As part of the upcoming documentary about the legendary Doge, a pilgrimage to meet Kabosu and Atsuko Sato (the Shiba Inu's real name and her owner) in Japan was recently undertaken by PleasrDAO, who bought the original NFT for $4.8 million when it was up for auction.

The trip to visit Doge's real-world residence was organized by the NFT community called "Own the Doge," which is backed by a collection of NFT artists and collectors known as Doge DAO (decentralized autonomous organization).

However, a surprising attendee on the pilgrimage alongside the group was one of the oldest and most well-known memes, Bad Luck Brian (real name Kyle Craven), who had the meme meetup for the film celebrated with a now-viral photo.

This picture was then uploaded to the /r/pics subreddit last Tuesday, where it became the site's highest upvoted post of the month with over 127,000 upvotes in one day.

The image itself was also turned into an NFT, similar to Bad Luck Brian and Doge's original images, with the on-sale date being only two days long, from June 6th to 8th, at a set price of $10 worth of ETH to mint.

This is another part of the DAO's long-standing plans with Doge, including the documentary, pilgrimage and a statue being in development to memorialize Kabosu forever.

If you're curious to learn more about the Own the Doge project, you can check out their website here or visit the auction on Zora's site for more details.
