I have a deep respect for Andrew Stanton and Pixar as a whole. As a writer myself, I try to look at what makes their movies tick and why people love them so much. I've watched Andrew Stanton's TED talk, and it was absolutely brilliant. The way Pixar communicates story is unparalleled. For anyone writing a story, I highly recommend watching the TED talk. For more great advice on how to create and present a story, Pixar has a list of rules that are a must:

Don’t be discouraged- even shakespeare had problems with some of this early on.

In Titus Andronicus, one of his first known plays, Shakespeare tried to make both sides relatable by having both side suffer pain and tragedy. Only… he did that by having the two sides rape-murder-eat each other back and forth. So by the end, you hate them all and just want them to all die.

The most likable character is Aaron the Moor, who is a literal motherfucker (and readily admits it) and the most devious and cruel character in the play (planning many of the rape murder selfmutailations). But he is the only one that has not tried to murder one of his chrildren (he even switch the kid out to protect him so that the Emperor of Rome wouldn’t wonder why his new heir is chocolate flavored…).
