I've known my best friend Rob forever, since elementary school, and his girlfriend, Alexa, for the last 3 years. Her and I hit it off immediately. We started texting all the time, and I had just been under the impression that we were really good friends. Throughout the whole three years, he always got kind of jealous of how often I texted and interacted with her, and I assured him we were only friends. I honestly thought that. Then we all get drunk one night, and whenever Rob left to do something, Alexa and I were giving each other weird looks. I don't know how to describe them besides as kind of warm, understanding, purposeful looks. Then he'd come back and things were back to normal. We go to bed later that night, and she messages me about how they've been really close to breaking up lately, and that he's jealous of how much I talk to her. I realize in that moment that I've had some serious feelings for her that I developed over the years, and I let her know.
