Yep, DKCR used highly advanced "3D sprites" for DK and Diddy, meaning the game actually used a graphical technique from the SNES games and most of us didn't even notice!

One of the oldest continually running game franchises in the world. Space Invaders beats it by a year and I haven't seen any official Pong games for a long time. (Thank God.) I salute you, my expansive primate friend!
