Oh comic books were demonized in the 50s/60s the way video games are blamed. I read quotes from ancient greek philosophers and people lamenting the invention of writing and books saying it was dumbing down the young people and ruining their memories.

Also I think in the 80s they had moved on to hating Rap and Metal or at least were starting to move to it.
