I personally don't care that much about transferring also on a personal level, but literally leaving most Pokemon out of the game, making entire swaths of Pokemon incompatible with each other is really bad game design.

Imagine like 3 years from now when they release the gen 4 remakes are you are unable to trade or battle with Sword or Shield because many Pokemon you have literally will not exist in the other game.

Also you cannot catch em' all anymore.

Just a shit decision all around.
