As much as we would love to assist you and take this feedback to Game Freak's development team, we are unable to do so. It is a heartbreaking experience to dedicate so much to a game series, to a specific team of Pokémon, and having it suddenly be cut off However, despite this being the current status of things, while we have nothing to announce or confirm as of this moment, post-launch updates exist The Pokémon Company and Game Freak has always strived to do their utmost to allow trainers to pass Pokémon from one generation to the next. It may be the case that, as of now, the ability of passing every single Pokémon to the new upcoming titles is not quite yet possible. More likely than not, however, Game Freak will take notice of this feedback on the Internet and social media And after being given time to work out the kinks of putting literal thousands of characters into a single game, the ability to have the National Pokédex may yet still become a reality. I'd like to submit feedback concerning the recent Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield revelations at E3 2019 - specifically, the gameplay change that will be affecting the drastically reduced Pokédex in all Pokémon games going forward, but most importantly to me, the next generation of games themselves.

In case you were holding out: hope, dashed. Speaking to Inside Gamer, Pokemon boss Junichi Masuda re-confirmed that yes, there are no plans to add the National Pokedex into Sword and Shield. Although there were some "maybes" thrown out since the news came back in June at E3, Game Freak is now sticking to their guns and eliminating the prospect altogether. Masuda states: "We now have no plans to make the Pokemon that are missing in the Galar Pokedex in- game available. That is an approach that we want to continue with Pokemon games in the future. Of course, up to now it has not been possible to encounter every Pokemon in every game, so people had to transfer it from old games via Pokemon Bank to the new game, for example."
