I wasn't sure where to put Red, as he appeared in Pokemon Origins, and I'm not sure if that counts as a proper anime or not.
Apparently, the Koopalings appeared in an OVA prior to the SMB3 cartoon.
I'm counting that one Dragon Quest anime as Hero's anime appearance.
Banjo & Kazooie had a proposed cartoon with concept art and everything but it was ultimately scrapped.
That Castlevania series on Netflix stars Trevor Belmont and doesn't feature Simon at all (at least not yet).
