Can confirm, the story is fake. Not only are those fox cubs, but also, this was passed off as being related to the Australian wildfires when it is not, which is kind of a scummy way to get "awws" and clicks from people.

I am actually glad that weebs turned this into something more wholesome than the actual story, which is basically just a documentary screenshot with no special context banking on people's ignorance about fox cubs' appearances.

Those are baby foxes. Granted it may not be common knowledge that they start out that color, but come on koalas don't have long tails.
