"Skibidi Toilet" by Lil Big Stack refers to a song, and its sped-up remix, that repeats the words "Skibidi Toilet" in reference to the children's YouTube series. The song, released in mid-2023, inspired memes and reactions online, specifically on TikTok where many made videos with the song.

Origin

On June 18th, 2023, meme musician Lil Big Stack posted an EP to Spotify ^[1] called Skibidi Toilet which featured the song "Skibidi Toilet" and its remixes, including a sped-up version, a slowed + reverb version and an "ultra slowed + reverb" version. On the same day, the "Topic" channel for Lil Big Stack on YouTube^[2][3] uploaded the normal speed and sped-up versions, gaining roughly 21,000 views and 40,000 views in three months, respectively (shown below, left and right).

Spread

On July 12th, 2023, TikToker^[4] @subgamergirl0 posted the first-known video to use any of Lil Big Stack's remixes, gaining roughly 678,200 plays and 1,400 likes in two months (shown below, left). About a month later, on August 15th, 2023, TikToker^[5] @gwenstampon posted a video with the normal version, adding a Slang Overload caption with Zoomer and Gen Alpha terms like Ohio and Grimace Shake, gaining roughly 484,000 plays and 72,700 likes in three weeks (shown below, right).

Skibidi Toilet – Sped Up

Going into late August and early September 2023, TikTokers started to use the song's sped-up remix more than its normal version. Videos using the remix first surfaced on August 29th, when TikToker^[6] @11vul11 posted a video, gaining roughly 1.9 million plays and 54,900 likes in eight days (shown below, left). Thereafter, many of the videos followed the X If They Were Good format, evident in an Eminem 8 Mile Rap Battle video posted by TikToker^[7] @ok_bro12345 on September 2nd, receiving roughly 2.4 million plays and 373,600 likes in four days (shown below, right).

By September 6th, 2023, the TikTok sound^[8] for the "Skibidi Toilet" sped-up remix had amassed over 39,200 posts.
