Notes:

Whimsical Warfare came about from a discussion on /tg/ on taking well known events in military history and subjecting them to disneyfication in order to make them as innocuous and cuddly as possible. Due to the more general nature of the content, and the lack of a /his/ entry, I felt they belonged here instead of being in the /tg/ entry.

The Battle of Stalingrad was one of the most bloodiest battles in the entirety of Human history, with almost two million (2''000'000) combined casualties, with the Soviets having the greater share at around 1.3 million (1'300'000) casualties. There were also 955 Soviet civilians who died in the battle, however, since the Soviets conscripted anyone who was able to fight and Stalin forbid the evacuation of any civilians, even children, from the city; it is not known if this figure is actual civilian casualties or just non-combatants who were not conscripted for one reason or another.

The battle of Pavlov's house refers to a fortified apartment block located near a key position by the Volga River that held out against continuous German armoured and infantry assaults for 59 days. The house was manned by around 24-30 Soviet soldiers and although their are no official numbers on casualties, it is often said that Germans lost more men trying to take this one house than they did taking the entirety of Paris.
