The more people who get this joke, the happier I'll be.
I find WW1 to be one of the most interesting periods of history as it was a mix-up between the tail-end of the Victorian era and the beginning of the world we know today.
Although the similarity between the poster and the magazine cover is quite striking, I can't really blame the designers of Vogue for accidentally re-creating a 100 year-old war poster.
I know it isn't right to assume such things, but Vogue cover designers don't strike me as the kind of people who would know about a WW1 propaganda poster depicting the Rape of Belgium.
