When I was in school, many years ago now, it was a compulsory part of the curriculum for pupils to study WW1 poetry and the work of Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sassoon has always stuck with me.

Since I've found some of their poems in a suitable format, I thought I'd share them here as I don't know how well known they are outside of the UK and I thought that you guys might find it interesting.

Beksiński was a prolific artist who left a lot of his work untitled, meaning that sometimes his pieces get confused for others and vice versa.

Although his art was often of a highly disturbing nature, Beksiński himself said that there was no deeper meaning in his art and that it was simply what he liked creating.

Brothers' Grimm face stealing mud monster

William Utermohlen's Self-Portraits Prior (1967) And Post-Diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease (1997 and 2000 respectively).

These self-portraits are made by the American artist William Utermohlen (1933-2007) and they show how Alzheimer's Disease (or Dementia in general) can negatively affect your mind and mess with your motor skills at the time they were made since his diagnosis in 1995. In his 2000 self-portrait, you can see William with a dejected expression, knowing not only he can barely recognize his own face but also fully aware that he's going to die due to the complications of Alzheimer's. Truly heart-breaking.
