The second Gex game, Enter the Gecko, is possibly the best entry in the series. Announced in early 1997, it was a 3D platformer in the style of Super Mario 64. The game proved to be a hit on PlayStation in 1998 (reviews generally were in the 8/10 range), with ports coming to the Nintendo 64 and PC later that year.

A score of 33.5/40 from EGM was a respectable score back in the day. For context, this is the exact same score that Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, and Donkey Kong 64 got around the same era.

This is the game where Gex has over 700 phrases that he says over the course of the game, largely references to the pop culture of the 80's and 90's.
