I'm gunna disagree, at least for the first game. Scott's first-gen designs really didn't have any grotesque elements forced on them, especially not in daytime lighting. Maybe Chica's a bit off when the lighting hits her from below, but I have found no shortage of people who think the jumpscares aren't scary in the slightest because they're just harmless robots walking up to you
