Carlos Rodríguez was a former public servant during the presidency of Carlos Menem. However, many people remember him nowadays due to his role during the presidential campaign of Javier Milei. After the ballotage (where Milei won), he was interviewed by Luis Novaresio, an openly gay journalist.

During this interview, he said that, while he can respect gay men and be comfortable in the presence of them, seeing two men kissing would make his tummy hurt, and that he loves to see two women kissing. This shot him into memedom, and made him the face of the hardware store owner/taxi driver/old-fashioned uncle stereotype. His previous Twitter profile picture was used to illustrate homophobic, sexist, racist and generally crass jokes online. On 14 March 2024, he changed his Twitter profile picture, which many people felt does not have the same mystique and memetic energy as the old one, with people saying that he now looks like an evil version of himself.
