Secondly, I think video-games are actually more progressive than other entertainment-medias-there are countless games where women aren't the damsel in distress, but where they are the heroine of the game.I do consider myself a feminist (yes, I'm a man) because Im for gender-equality, but how is it equality if one group (the radical feminists) portray men that play video games as penis-driven, stupid women-haters that can't disinguish between a sexualized female character in a video-game and a real woman? I also see these radical feminists as destructive towards real gender-equality, because they make many people not only men)think that feminism is about hating men. The only thing this whole debate has accomplished is to drive the two paries further away from each other and strengthen stereotypes about feminism, gamers (especially male gamers) and the relationship between men and women in todays society in general. X Journalists would make claims of people like Anita Sarkeesian "playing video games all her life" when she openly admitted many times she is not a gamer and only starter recently (when it wasn't for an interview). Various developers trading sex or money for good reviews got exposed, journalists who accepted got exposed. People became a bit more critical about supporting a game just because the developer has a victim complex stating tat their game could have only failed because of sexism, instead of their own poor developing skills. What really sealed the deal was opposition often faking their own harassment. Anita sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn have been caught multiple times screenshotting "harassment" while showing that the harrasser's account name in the login. Or when someone called the police to help Sarkeesian against a "very real threat" she was posting about, only for police to find the harasser's messages were coming from her IP address.
