Steve, I'm Stuck! refers to a rule 34 Minecraft video where the character Steve finds the character Alex stuck in a fence, similar to What Are You Doing, Step Bro? pornography videos. The original video was posted to YouTube in July 2021 and inspired a trend of remakes on there and on TikTok going into early 2022. Additionally, the meme is similar to other provocative, cartoon trends like Ankha Zone and What What in the Robot.

Origin

On July 22nd, 2021, YouTuber^[1] GTA4HaterHD posted a video where the character Alex is bent over stuck inside a fence. She calls out, "Steve, you've gotta help me. I'm stuck!" prompting Steve to run up to her in a goofy way, similar to a Going To The Store run. Over the course of 10 months, the video received roughly 18.4 million views and 793,000 likes (shown below).

Spread

On July 28th, 2021, YouTuber^[2] GTA4HaterHD posted another video with the same animation, however, this time Steve Jobs is photoshopped onto Steve's face. Over the course of 10 months, the video received roughly 208,700 views and 7,400 likes (shown below, left).

On July 29th, 2021, YouTuber^[3] LazBlockStudio posted their iteration of the original video. Instead, however, a Herobrine version of Steve approaches Alex in a T-pose, letting out a prolonged "Yeah!" Over the course of 10 months, the video received roughly 22.9 million views and 895,000 likes (shown below, right).

Going into August and September 2021, the video was remixed en masse by multiple animators on YouTube, each giving alternative endings or new comedic details. For instance, on September 3rd, 2021, YouTuber^[4] Banana Porridge posted a Friday Night Funkin' version, earning roughly 57,000 views over the course of eight months (shown below, left). On December 13th, 2021, YouTuber^[5] Mine Time posted their version, being a more long-form iteration. Over the course of six months, the video received roughly 6.1 million views (shown below, right).
