About:
Dubstep game montages are a series of parody videos created to ridicule kill montages of competitive FPS games such as Call of Duty or Counter-Strike. Call of Duty montages are usually made to feature dubstep bass drops as well as overexcessive editing with plenty of flashing screens, sudden zooms and pans, epileptic text and other effects over a dubstep soundtrack in an attempt to make the video look cooler. Oftenly, montages are based on challenges, such as making headshots without scoping with the sniper, or avoiding overpowered “scrub” weapons and tactics.
The parodies themselves are based on games which, unlike Call of Duty, aren’t nearly as competitive, action-oriented or masculine, but use the same exaggerated flashy effects which can result in some truly hillarious pseudo-montages.

These are examples of the tropes the meme parodies, used in a completely un-ironic sense:
Origin:
This whole trend seemed to have started when motdef[1] posted the TRAINZ SIMULATOR 12 video[2] as a video response to Woodcutter Simulator 2011[3]. Shortly after uploading it, the creator of Woodcutter Simulator, souqil[4], posted a comment in reply to someone asking when this meme started, saying:
“Well way back I saw this video: watch?v=jx-YuvioM7w[5] Which I thought was funny as hell and inspired me to make the Ace of Spades montage. I didn’t think so many people would find it as funny as I did, but apparantly that wasn’t the case, so I made this video. I think at this point fairly-famous-on-youtube motdef saw it (and I’m going to assume it inspired him to make his TRAINZ video, though that may not have been the case). At that point everyone started parodies.” -souqil in reply to MilkChan[6]
And surprisingly enough, a while later motdef left a reply to the comment:
“Oh yeah, this was definitely the inspiration behind TRAINZ. It’s incredible. I posted my video as a response to this one, but it sounds like it didn’t go though.” motdef in reply to souqil[6]
