The FAT Hoodie, also known as "FAT Parka" (Japanese: FATパーカー), is a drawing fad which is popular within the furry community that started in Japan, but spread to other countries. The trend is most popular on Twitter, but has since then spread to sites such as FurAffinity and Tumblr. These drawings most often consist of muscular or chubby furry characters who are wearing this hoodie. It has spread throughout artists and has become a fad to draw one’s own character in.

Origin

This drawing fad was started by a Japanese amateur kemono illustrator kick^[9], who illustrates kemono^[1] characters of the subgenres called as "Kemo-Homo" (ケモホモ; lit. Gay Kemono) and "Debu-Kemo" (デブケモ; lit. Fat/Chubby Kemono). His illustration of a fat anthropomorphic boar wearing a blue hoodie with a "FAT" logo printed on the front in yellow was posted to his Twitter on February 20th, 2015.^[2] It was also reposted to his Tumblr on the 5th of the following month and had earned more than 1,000 notes in its first month.^[3]

Spread

Due to its origin, the FAT hoodie is heavily associated with furry homosexual pornography.

Dozens of FAT hoodie illustrarions are uploaded to Twitter^[4], Tumblr^[5], pixiv^[6] and DeviantArt.^[7] Twitter users works are also collected on a Togetter page submitted by the creator.^[8]
