A commonly-used phrase found prevalently around the 4chan boards, the main intent of this phrase is to normally denounce and demoralize the Original Poster (OP) for posting a lame/stupid topic and/or picture. The replies usually consist of either typing in the phrase “OP is a faggot” or variations of this phrase such as “OP is a fag” and “This thread is bad and you should feel bad.” Pictures of scenes from popular movies and TV shows (such as the Simpsons, Family Guy, etc.) with the phrase pasted in them have also been widely used to gain a more visual representation of how lame or stupid the original topic/picture is. This phrase is also a typical response to overused memes (such as Newfags can’t Triforce, if originally posted) and topics (such as Post ending in X).

Origin

The origins of this phrase are believed to have originated on the random board (/b/) on 4chan, although less extreme forms of it (i.e. “you suck”, “GTFO”, etc.) have existed for many years. More research is needed to confirm the true origins of this topic.

Other Uses

Some OPs have taken it upon themselves to post these type of lame topics on purpose in order to get these responses (a typical troll attempt). These attempts are normally met with success and urge other “trolls” to either troll the OP or troll other people in the process.

As long as 4chan is around and trolls exist, there will always be a means to ridicule and humiliate the OPs out there. And yes, the OP of this KYM entry realizes that he may very well be called a faggot for posting this.
