Scout is Delicious!

On December 30th, 2008, Youtube user ARMaster uploaded “Scout is Delicious”, A two second long GMOD Youtube video of a Heavy weapons guy rgeating a Scout from Team Fortress 2, with the audio rearranged to say “Scout is Delicious.”

The Contest

On July 3rd, 2009, ARMaster challenged the Youtube community to a contest to create the best “Scout is” video; with the prize being a mention on his Youtube profile.

Within weeks, over 200 “Scout is…” responses were made by users all over Youtube. The formula for the responses started with a simple “Scout is X” accompanied by head replacements, but soon mutated into a more freeform “X is Y” format.

Although the contest was conducted via Youtube, there was at least one thread about it on Facepunch.org, the main GMOD community forum.

Ironically, the winner of the contest was the video “I eat your razorback” by Youtuber HTMLearth, who created the video before even finding out about the contest. It should also be noted that his video is an “I eat your milkshake/sandwich” derivative, and not really a “Scout IS X” video.

WiiMandDK actually came up with the idea of the Scout eating a razorback, while we were talking on Skype, and I decided to make it into a video.
Then I learned about the scout is delicious contest and made it a response to that. WiiMand then decided to make his own video for the contest.

I then won the contest, so in the end WiiMand actually deserves some credit for it :P
