On Facebook, there's a group for just about anything. Any particular niche someone is interested in, they can join a group of like-minded individuals who can discuss the things they love. There are even regional groups, groups for hometowns, states, neighborhoods… anywhere. One of the most popular kinds of groups, though, are parenting groups, or more specifically "mom groups." First-time and experienced parents can join these groups and share milestones and ask questions. There is quite a dark side to it all though. Some people in these groups have no sense of staying private.
