What's With The 'Kirkified' Charlie Kirk Face Swap Memes? The 'Kirkification' Trend That's Gone Viral Explained
Charlie Kirk's face is everyone in memes right now, all because of a face swap trend using the late conservative influencer's likeness that people are calling "Kirkified Memes" or "Kirkification."
The instinct to "Kirkify" the best reaction images and GIFs has manifested on Twitter / X and in TikTok comment sections more than anywhere else.
For those who are chronically online, Kirkification might make sense, but for those who aren't, it's all rather confusing, especially given the gruesome and polarizing circumstances surrounding Kirk's recent death.
So, where did the "Kirkification" trend begin? Who started the "Charlie Kirk Face Swap" memes and why? Let's explain.
Where Did The 'Charlie Kirk Face Swaps' And 'Kirkified Memes' Come From?
The trend seemingly started with a GIF that had Charlie Kirk's face placed on the body of streamer IShowSpeed in the viral clip of him trying not to laugh. An X user named @wapzahra first posted it in late September 2025, a few weeks after Kirk was fatally shot.
It's not possible to view the tweet as of right now because @wapzahra's page is currently private, but it was reposted in full to Instagram soon after, showing that it had received just over 93,000 likes in a day.
The GIF was left uncaptioned in the tweet as the user let it speak for itself. For some reason, it resonated with people, hinging on the absurd and edgy.
What Does 'Kirkification' Mean?
"Kirkification" is a word that describes the phenomenon of meme creators swapping Charlie Kirk's face onto any image. It was coined on TikTok when the trend spread to the platform in October 2025.
The "-ification" suffix has been used to name similar trends like "Yassification." And although the "Graham Potter Face Swaps" weren't named "Potterification," they might as well have been.

How Are People Using 'Kirkified Memes' Online?
The trend has mostly spread in TikTok comment sections over the past few weeks of October and November 2025, where users have noticed a slow Kirkification of their favorite memes. Popular reaction images on the app like "Distraught Morgan Jones" or "Lil Rodney Son Staring" have been nonsensically swapped with Charlie Kirk.
Some videos highlighting the trend have joked about tarnishing Charlie Kirk's legacy. "RIP Kirk, your sacrifice meant something," was the caption on one such video, pointing to one possible reason as to why the internet thinks it's funny.
In a recent tweet from X user @domoambic, they noted that Erika Kirk, his widow, "is probably thinking she's going through psychosis."
The haunting idea ties into another popular post from X user @tlop444, who wrote, "This really is the worst time period to die in," referring to an image of Kirk swapped onto rapper Playboi Carti.
