Two examples of dangerous TikTok challenges.

The Worst (And Most Dangerous) TikTok Challenges Of June 2022

TikTok never ceases to amaze us. On one hand, it can be a fun social media platform for sharing fun content. On the other hand, people will literally film themselves shooting random passersby in the face with Orbeez, and small part of the TikTok community seems to think this is a totally valid idea and will replicate the trend themselves. But lately, things have gotten worse than the gel-pellet or Orbeez challenge, and have turned even dumber and more dangerous than before. So, if you need yet another reason to just use Reddit instead, here are some of the wildest challenges from this month on TikTok that you obviously should not ever do.

In what is certainly the dumbest viral challenge since people were eating tide pods (perhaps even dumber), we're now seeing the Angel of Death challenge take off on TikTok. If a challenge has the word death in the title, it should be obvious that this is a bad idea. In essence, the Angel of death challenge involves jumping in front of a moving vehicle, usually a truck, to see whether or not you will be spared. Is it funny? Not even close. Not only have people died doing this, But now the people who hit random teens jumping in the middle of the road have to live with their guilt for the rest of their lives. I honestly can’t think of a much dumber challenge anyone could come up with, but this month is full of exceptionally idiotic challenges, so get ready for more.

Another dangerous trend is the lug nut challenge. I'm not sure what TikTok’s deal is with attacking drivers is lately, like when everyone was throwing cheese into oncoming traffic and causing accidents, but this is yet another trend that involves potentially endangering many random drivers, because it involves loosening the lug nuts on their cars, typically removing 4 of the 5 nuts. Lug nuts are an important part of keeping the car stable, because they hold the wheels together. The idea of the challenge is to see if the driver figures out that something is wrong with their car while on video. If they don't, they drive away in a car that's essentially about to fall apart at any minute, which could mean accidents on any scale, which these TikTokers clearly don't seem to care about.

Next, we have the door kick challenge, which has been around for a few months now. It's in the news again because of a recent arrest, because technically this is attempted breaking and entering. The door kick challenge involves kicking someone's door repeatedly to the sound of Kesha’s “Die Young” in the background, apparently with the goal of shocking the people inside or kicking their door down to successfully bust into their home, and one of the main points of the challenge is that the unsuspecting victim has to be a stranger. It's not clear what these TikTokers think is going to happen after they bust that door down, but it's honestly surprising that none of them have gotten themselves shot yet.

@yoshitigerlion I know this tread is a bit late but I hope you enjoy it. @harrysinclair311 and my cameraman recording it was 1up.morgan on Ig #tread #song #doorkick #dieyoungtrend #dieyoungdoorkick ♬ original sound – Michael🕺🏾🔮

Do you remember the blue whale challenge? Hopefully, you've been able to move on from that rough part of internet history, thinking nothing like that could ever happen again. Well, apparently a bunch of people have decided to start a new challenge involving self-harm and risk of death, called the Labello challenge. This started off innocently enough, with users trying to guess the scent of another person's chapstick, but because the internet is a disturbed place, it's become an entirely new challenge where users are encouraged to use up, eat, or pull apart a bit of their chapstick every time they feel sad, and when the chapstick runs out…Yeah, you get the idea. The video below is a French video in which the TikToker discusses eating the whole stick as part of the challenge. At the moment, the challenge seems to be more popular on TikTok in non-English-speaking countries, but it’s still spreading, which is obviously pretty concerning.
