See The Winner Of April 2022's Meme Of The Month!
And the meme of April 2022 goes to…
The first candidate to get one trillion (and nineteen) votes, Morbius sweeps the April 2022 poll for meme of the month. Parody memes ironically celebrating Morbius as a massive commercial and critical success despite the movie getting panned by pretty much everyone helped the latest installment in Sony's Spider-Man universe become a cultural phenomenon despite all the odds. And considering the recent announcement of El Muerto, another movie based on a relatively obscure character… Could ironic blockbusters become a thing?
Turning Red 9/11 Debate
April 2022 turned out to be a big month for movie memes as it is Turning Red 9/11 Debate who snags the second place. Launched by a bizarre angle arguing that Pixar's Turning Red, set in 2002, should have recognized the September 11th terrorist attacks in some way, the meme singlehandedly returned 9/11 memes into the meta, spawning parody memes and the They Hit the Pentagon trend. Jet fuel can't melt these 14 percent of your votes.
NSFW Bowling Animations
In the third place with 10 percent of total votes we find hands-down the horniest meme of the month, NSFW Bowling Animations. Going on a bit of a tangent here, but bear with us: the porn bowling GIFs were inspired by November 2021 offensive bowling animations by Corridor Crew, which were inspired by Bowling Alley When You Get a Strike memes, which were spawned by a single YouTube comment on a video of a pirate dancing to pirate shanties. Also, Corridor Crew recently released several even more offensive bowling animations, go check them out!
SPY x FAMILY
The most popular anime release of the month, SPY x FAMILY had a major fandom even before it got adapted, but the anime launched its popularity to new heights. This, of course, just couldn't be not accompanied by hundreds upon hundreds of great anime memes celebrating the series, with Anya Forger becoming a household name, in anime households at least. The spy, the assassin and the telepath successfully complete Operation KYM April 2022 Poll fourth place with ten percent of your votes.
Let Me Solo Her
Some called him a madman. Some, a hero. Whether your opionion on Let Me Solo Guy, the slayer of Malenia, the protector of the week, the player of Elden Ring is, he will without a doubt take his rightful place in the pantheon of video game myths and legends next to the likes of GiantDad, Noobmaster69 and TheLegend27. And you ever doubted the man… He soloed' his 1000th Malenia yesterday.
Not making the cutoff for top five these month are Fugu Fish that advices you not to pee on the floor and use the Commodore instead (7%), many memes about Amber Heard vs. Jonnhy Depp case (6%), Jinx the Cat and its quarter-size pupils (6%), the Snickers Dick Vein that is not going anywhere (5%), the massive meltdown that followed Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter (5%), "mid" becoming the definitive slang word of the month (3%), Cosmo Yelling at things (3%), El Gato TikTok sound (2%), Yakub the creator of white people (1%) and the very sound strategy of investing in rare fish and multiple uncles (1%).
Thank you for taking part in the poll and don't forget to vote for your favorite memes come June!
