And the meme of August 2021 goes to…

Jack-O Crouch was not the only redraw trend of the month, but it was definitely the one to put both artistic skills and the limits of human body to the test. The pose made by Guilty Gear character Jack-O Valentine during her crouching animation inspired thousands of artists as Jack-O Challenge saw rise, and hey, its first place with 28 percent of the votes is well deserved.

Hello, Peter / Dr. Ock

The nostalgia gripped the internet fast and firmly the very second when Dr. Octopus appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, with Alfred Molina looking just as great a villain as he did seventeen years ago in Spider-Man 2.His only line "Hello, Peter" was enough for memes to come flooding, but it wasn't the only Dr. Ock meme to bless us in August. Second place, 19 percent of the votes.

Chris-Chan

"CHRIS CHAN DID WHAT" trending on Twitter in late July 2021 was a harbinger of news that shocked the internet. In what seems to be the final chapter of the Chris-Chan saga, the internet's number one trollee allegedly done an unspeakable thing to their mother, which got the people talking, investigating and, of course, memeing the fallen internet legend. Third place with 17 percent of the votes.

Broly Culo / Thicc Omniman

While Broly Culo by Absolutbleu was inspiring redraws years before Thicc Omni-Man came along, this particular version happened to be the fresh air this thicc format needed to really go viral. Shitposts, redraws, you name it – Thicc Omniman really did stuck a chord with the people of the internet, which earned it the fourth place with 13 percent of the votes.

You Are Known For

Coming in the fifth place with 11 percent of the votes, we have You Are Known For, The Office spin-off of For the Better, Right. It did not quite manage to live to the glory of its parent but did rather well for itself nonetheless: versions mocking countries and companies saw particular love, with Michal Scott's and Pam Beesly's expressions giving Anakin and Padme a run for their money.

Wrapping up our list, we got the Milk Crate Challenge (4%) which got people trying to walk a pyramid of stacked milk crates (and usually falling from it on their butts – or worse). It shares its sixth place with Fortnite's Martin Luther King Event (4%) which made many people admit their total disappointment with modern online culture. And at the very bottom with three percent of the votes, a fierce competition between My Fall Plans and the Delta Variant is taking place, with the former hopefully gaining the upper hand.

Stay tuned for September memes and don't forget to cast your vote next month!
