The Middle is a sitcom that ran from 2009 to 2018 that follows the lower-middle-class Heck family. In season 8, episode 22, titled "The Final Final," the address numbers on the Heck house are mixed up with their neighbor's, resulting in some good (and bad) fortune for the Hecks.

In one scene, thanks to the address switch-up, the Hecks get eight free pizzas delivered to their house. Frankie Heck picks up the pizzas, brings them into the living room and announces, "We just got eight free pizzas," followed by her son Brick laughing and celebrating.

In February 2025, TikToker @_thomasbae_ posted an edit of this scene that distorts the video and audio, garnering over a million views in a month.

Then, in early March, TikToker @alex_bauw posted a very similar edit, sparking a wave of memes.

The meme became notably popularized on TikTok in March 2025. The format borrows a lot of tactics from "SueTok," a meme trend that went viral in January and had users editing another scene from The Middle.
