Well I never thought of being in a dating simulator, but hell, just add me. But one thing I have noticed, is the most of these hacked/modded games really don't get finished, and are abandoned after a month or two. But you seem to have this almost complete, but just need the characters.

You're in, but right now with the amount of people wantign to join, I'm going to get focused on creating a small product focused on dating like 3 people who might just be mods tbh and just get a working scenario out and running. So in the future you will be added, but right now I'll just have to focus on making the thing.

But it's good to see you know your own limits. Several people in this thread are asking too much from you just so they can get in, so your current solution is working. You're just one man with limited time and resources, so starting off with like 1-3 routes is a good decision.

Just playing with an observation, but that might be a good role.

I'd like to suggest putting a small generalised cameo for all the lurkers and/or commentors of the site, being a bit of a lurker myself, it could be a silly but fun thing to toy with. Also I definitely recommend limiting it as you said above, the amount of projects I haven't even started due to the scale of them is just too many,

When asking to be in, at least add a useful suggestion/advice to your post. Kinda like how Wabbit and Angry Engineer did. Every little suggestion that benefits the game itself (i.e. All of us) counts.

You can't make a game with a full cast of characters but no actual development.

Also, to make suggestions easier to read and basically get rid of unnecessary posts fill out a form similar to this:

Suggestion: If you haven't decided on where it could happen maybe a school setting? That's where most dating sims take place anyway and it's the most fun idea in my opinion. Oh, I forgot you already decided on a school as I can see with the clubs and classes and stuff. So, instead I'll offer some ideas of what you could do plot-wise.

- Bully turned nice
- Drug lord gang and the protagonist at the moment's inner dilemma and the effects of peer pressure
- A love triangle (duh)
- corrupt teachers/principal
- Student falling in love with his/her teacher
- neckbeard nerd story where nice guy can't get girl because of swag-fags
- story where loser desperately wants to be hall monitor (metaphor for mod) and does anything to get it as he/she watches all his/her friends become hall monitors

Just ideas. And your idea of starting off with only a few small paths is genius because it'll make you feel confident about it and you'll actually release a product sometime and release updates for it if you want. This might actually turn out well.

So I just remembered I got volunteered to do art by some doofus in IRC, and I'm free to write too. Just hand me the memes and point me at the monitor. Feel free to tell me when we decide to:

• Pick an engine to work with
• Actually acknowledge that we're going to do this

Suggestions for the game: I think there should be an air of mystery to the game. Some mysterious memeings-on. The plot should have a layer of intrigue.

Perhaps also consider some light RPG elements, like basic skills that you level up by going to classes and joining clubs. there could be some skill checks that allow you to take additional actions during choices.

ALSO, I could code the game. Using a simple engine like Construct 2 I could form a Point and Click dating sim. I know you wanted to make it using PowerPoint or something, but I feel like it would be better as an actual game. Lemme know if you want me to code it, it sounds like a fun project.

Suggestion: Don't worry about getting everyone's idea into the game, or even everyone in this thread. Just focus on getting the hang of the medium and the software. Once you have a basic functioning product then you can make a second iteration and start improving on things and adding ideas. Seriously, if you try to do everything that has been suggested in this thread then I guarantee this will never happen.

TL;DR Just focus on the bare minimum and get out a finished product. Then gather feedback and add improvements.

Suggestion: Maybe it would be easier to have the game take place over the course of a few days (ex: 3-5 days), that way it would be easier to write and finish up and could give a nice place to set a limit. It would also be able to make it easier to set up when certain events happen at different parts of the day that could prevent things from getting out of hand.
