Tech Tree

• Levant has been destroyed. Syserrene forces evict the Levantine government from the capital, and all of their territory is lost. No armies remain to retake territory and resistance proves futile.
• China is very quickly defeated and annexed by the Holy Persian Empire.
• Mexico's internal struggles devolve into a civil war. On one side, nationalist forces support the restoration of the old isolationist policies focused on the religious purity of the blood cult. On the other, idealistic socialist revolutionaries seek to convert the nation to Tengriism and the way of Pathmaker. The war was initially fought on equal grounds, but the sale of Texas to Doon has lost the rebels a large portion of their lands, and the nationalist front is now winning in the conflict. Doon is, as of yet, not allowing rebellious activity to continue.

• Heavily armored tanks are created through the use of MacTire engines. Oddly, despite the lack of secrecy in their invention, they are called by the same name as other such vehicles which were named due to secrecy. Why call them tanks? Your guess is as good as mine.
• Attempts to aid the Levantine forces in defending their homes fails. There is nothing that can be done to get them back into Arabia, and the Levantine state crumbles.
• Peace is had with Mexico.
• China is supplied with weapons to fight off the Indian invaders, but Dathuastani weaponry is extremely poor in comparison to the Holy Persian Empire, which uses much more advanced weapons similar to Syserrene guns. China is unable to defend itself properly, and Dathuastan has made an enemy out of Persia.
• Ferrer Roche, a chocolateer and candy enthusiast, has established a thriving business selling chocolates in Dathuastan and abroad. He has invented a product known as Buttela, which is delicious and mysterious. Nobody knows any of the ingredients besides the most important one: chocolate.
• The Donlympic Games are held once again. Doon, Ovo, and Riveria send dedicated teams to compete. Dathuastan brings home the Platinum, Ovo the Gold, Doon the Silver, and Riveria the bronze.
• Polic Indochina is invaded. Ports are bombarded by ironclads and soldiers advance through the jungles where they meet the Gorilla force. The defenders easily defeat Dathuastan's armies due to their guerrilla tactics being perfectly complimented by the jungle terrain. Not much land is gained and many casualties are taken.

Doon

• A new invention, a kind of multi-use utility suit, is created. Called "Big Daddy" by users, the suit is able to augment movement to help the crippled move again and to give soldiers or heavy weight lifters more strength.
• An attempt is made to domesticate badgers, but it largely fails. Badgers do what they want. Regardless, a kind of cult-like admiration for badgers emerges and leads to new wildlife protection laws. Nature reserves are established and endangered species are tracked and defended from poaching.
• A mass war tribunal is arranged to try Choctaw and Iroquois generals and royalty for crimes during the war. War crimes have never been defined before, so the trial is really just an exposition of their dirty deeds.
• A public education system is established and well-funded. Hospitals and medical research centers are also established using grant money.
• Modernization occurs in all territories. Modern housing is redefined as having an electrical system and indoor plumbing.
• Quechua and the Pathmakers accept an offer of alliance and the Quechuans are quick to forgive the Doonish for their transgressions. Mexico is in no state to accept any alliances.
• War memorials are established on battlefields so that nobody will ever forget what happened.
• California is requested from the Pathmakers. They refuse to sell their homeland and capital city.
• Texas is requested from Mexico. Glad to be rid of the Tengriist rebels there, they accept the offer. The rebellion loses much manpower and territory when Doonish occupation forces arrive to enforce the law of Doon upon Texas, and the money from the purchase greatly aids the Mexican government. The tide of the Mexican civil war changes in Bloodist favor.
• Various kinds of special forces units are established and the army is broken down into corps specializing in a wide range of tasks and missions.
• The Panama canal is completed. A system of locks was required to overcome the tremendous heights of the mountains, and Ovon medical personnel saw to it that the jungles were purged of mosquitoes and yellow fever.
• A prisoner-of-war camp is discovered near Manhattan. Medical records from the camp show that military scientists were experimenting with biological warfare and the recoding of genetic material to fit their own needs. It seems that they were close to a breakthrough in viral engineering, developing a disease that would only infect people of a certain racial group. Obviously they had intended to code this disease against Europeans. The research is now in Doonish hands, and is quickly hushed up as a state secret.

• Using MacTire combustion engines, heavily armored vehicles called tanks are developed. They are made a state secret, and oddly enough have the exact same terminology history as the Sword tanks. Fancy that.
• The Indonesians, without protection from the Levantine garrisons, have rapidly turned over their allegiance to Polis.
• A company known as Fink Industries takes over the electrical appliance market, gaining a monopoly in Italy.
• The rise of Swing music occurs due to the influence of a certain Vinny Alneta.

• Animal rights activists win the day as new laws are passed protecting all living creatures from torture and abuse.
• Engineers are sent to Quechua to aid in their modernization, installing electrical power grids and modern plumbing systems. Ovon engineering firms make a huge profit, and the Quechua are grateful for the new systems.
• An offer is made to purchase territory from Quechua, but they refuse, stating that the territory in question is inhabited by loyal citizens who would not like to be bought or sold like cattle.
• Beothuk is ceded to Doon.
• The colonies are rebuilt from the war and the locals greatly appreciate the government support. New hospitals, schools, and utilities are built all throughout.
• Citizenship is given to all natives in the colonies.
• A war memorial is built in Europe and another in America, to honor the dead from the terrible recent conflicts.
• Tanzania is occupied and annexed at the collapse of Levant.

Unfortunately, it seems that the preferred successor to the Quechuan throne is not a result of the marriage. Unless this particular prince meets an untimely demise it seems that the royal marriage will not result in a union between the two nations.
• The internet is invented, allowing computers in various places to very easily and quickly transfer data to and from each other.
• The industrial revolution occurs with the import of MacTire engines. Factories everywhere, already aware of the great production possibilities in other nations, are rapidly adopting the new industrial model. Computers are now being produced cheaply and efficiently as well, allowing most of the upper-middle class to afford them.
• State healthcare services are established.

• Prospectors search Pathmaker land, with permission of course, for exploitable resources. Huge oil discoveries are made and the Pathmakers soon become the world's largest exporter of petroleum products. Zellania takes a portion of the initial cut for helping in the discovery.
• The airplane is invented. The sky-ocean is thoroughly dominated and the Tide God is pleased.

• A budding local communist party in the capital is elevated to national fame when they are put on the election ticket. The apparent promotion of communism has led to socialists the world over immigrating in droves to attempt participation in the elections.
• In a landslide victory, the communists take power. They very rapidly overturn the capitalist economy and socialize everything they can get their hands on. The Parliament is quickly filled with socialists and communists, mostly deriving from three "state sanctioned" parties, directly approved by the Prime Minister. Their goal is to eventually drive out all other parties from the parliament, to ensure that the peaceful revolution is never overturned.
• Relief crews are sent to the newly christened "Errmerica" colony to rebuild the city and encourage the natives to move back in. It is much appreciated by the city's former denizens, who are slowly migrating back to their old homes.
• A trade pact is made with the Pathfinders and relations improve. A similar pact fails to be agreed upon with Mexico, which is undergoing a civil war and cannot focus on external affairs at the moment.
• Being that Berber techniques for desert living almost exclusively rely on guiding caravans, marketing goods, raiding, and racketeering, the Syserrene who attempt to replicate their methods for living in the desert generally find the whole affair too difficult to grasp.
• Ice is purchased from Crazy Svald, who is simply making a killing from his Saharan outpost.
• The Levantine government is forced into exile. The occupied territories are annexed.

I am aware of that yes. And I'm rather disappointed by that. But I don't think Iberia or Riyadh actually had any Kebabs to begin with. Both Swords and Levant were too pleb to enjoy my superior turkish cuisine. Therefor it's not that significant to me.

Quick question about technology: Are we allowed to steal technology that's further down the tech tree or do we have to follow it no matter what (for example if I only had rifles could I steal modern arms without doing gattling guns or machine guns)?

Normally Communist and Capitalist nations get alone as well as lions and hyenas but in this occasion I'm glad BSOD became a communist state since now all the Commie in my nation can go to his land and not make a Communist revolution in my country.

As Crow said, you do not need to follow the tree when it comes to stealing techs. Also remember that it is assumed you have all the techs that the tech you stole replaces, so for instance if you steal Internet, you also have stolen Radio and Electricity and thus can invent Coil Guns or Analog Computers.

Just letting you all know, you are not restricted to what exists already on the tech tree. Please invent amazing creative wonders the likes of which the world has never seen. Remember: if it is plausible, it is possible. The current tech tree is just for showing all of the IRL techs so that methodical progression through the info and industrial ages is not too difficult. I will add your creative techs to the tree as you invent them. Also please ignore the fact that airplanes are listed twice on the tech tree.

• Communist groups are rising in number in Iran. Royal garrison troops are deployed wherever they meet, crushing dissent, but communists continue to appear and in greater numbers with each wave. This kind of persistence can only be the work of foreign operatives and the Emperor blames Syserror.
• Dathuastan is invaded. Initially the vastly superior weapons and numbers of Indian troops overwhelms the enemy, but soon a terrible winter sets in and the tanks are frozen in place. The roads are muddied and unable to support supply trucks as most of Dathuastan's northern roads are not paved. Soldiers are unable to get food or ammunition and, very much used to the warm and wet climate of their Indian homeland, begin to suffer severely from the cold.

Eventually, even his own family cannot find him, and he is assumed dead and lost in the Andes mountains.
• Half of Cuba and the portion of Panama east of the Canal are gifted to Ovo.
• Civil society is overhauled. Free health care is provided, business subsidies are handed out, and free toasters are given to anybody who called in the last five minutes.
• New laws are passed regarding war crimes, although nobody expects to prosecute anybody on such crimes in the near future. Unless…
• Border searches are the only thing restricting migration through Doon for ally allies and citizens. Mexican fascists are no easily engaging in terrorism by pretending to be "the good guys." A war monument in Norway is blown up and forty people are injured by a Blood Cult suicide bomber.
• Support is actively given to the Socialist Mexican forces and Doonish armies march alongside them deep into fascist Mexico. However, in secret the two sides formed an agreement and betrayed the Doonish, forcing them to retreat from Mexico entirely. It seems that the Mexicans are convinced that Doon intends on transforming the whole of Mexico into a colony and have thus temporarily joined forces to put and end to Doonish interventionism in Mexico. Texas declares independence and joins the socialist front.
