@stalemate

Considering that I’m going to allow just about anyone else, sure. Me and Crimeariver are the only ones with absolute unrestricted access though.

Syserror is very interested in using this Canal and will be among the first of your customers. I can send workers to assist in the canals construction if need be. Anything else I can do to make sure I have passage in the next turn?

[edit]

[plants the Syserrene flag on this new page]

Mine. All visitors to this page must now pay tribute to Syserror

As I said, all player states are permitted through for now unless Crimeariver has something to say about it. I'll be turning down Syserror's offer, it is appreciated but we will not need the help.

You guys can visit whenever you want to, but be sure to bring a ton of warm clothes! Also, I won't mind if you guys bring arts or cultures either! If there are any religions or cultures that feel oppressed, I welcome them to migrate to Doon! Same caution applies with bringing warm clothes. Seriously, it's not the beaches of the new world here!

I'm fine with it, just as long as they pay the toll and let their cargo be searched for banned goods.

What is considered banned goods for you cause what you might considered banned may not be so for others.

Just things that I want to have a monopoly on ;)

Seriously though, right now there probably won't be any restriction on what you can carry through the canal. In the future though restrictions might include firearms, drugs, slaves, and any other items we decide on.

The main thing is the toll though.

I can get behind the slave one.

TURN 10

  • The Aztecs have successfully convinced the Toltec and Mogollon rulers to join in a triumvirate confederacy, forming the new nation of Mexico.
  • The khan of the Golden Horde survives four assassination attempts. Paranoid, he hides away in the mountains and moves his court there, abandoning most administrative duties to councillors and advisers in Minsk.

Technological development is now possible. You may either steal two techs from other nations that you have a trade route with (they may be from two different nations) or invent one tech of your own. You may not both invent and steal on the same turn. You may not give or trade techs with other players, only stealing. If the tech you attempt for is too advanced, you will be given a lesser tech in the same field of science. Military units inferior to the military techs you currently have (musket and cannon) and redundant naval units have been removed.

Mr. Stalker
Katia

Government: Democratic Theocracy
Culture: The Fights, Talion Law, Lord of the Arena, Death Matches, Blood God, Human Sacrifices, Sun-Cat Faith
Economy: Agrarian
Military: Longboats, Elite Longbowmen, Blood-Berserks, Zealot Warriors, Hoplites, Katia Landers, Bunker Cats, Thieving Cats
Tech: Cannon

  • The homeland is abandoned as the entire nation's army is mobilized onto longships and sets sail for Europe. This has the unfortunate, yet easily foreseen, effect of losing the war at home. Muiscan, Arawak, and Mexican forces easily storm across the borders and capture huge swaths of land. Fortunately, their naval forces are lacking, and they are unable to make way onto the islands.
  • The Choctaw, unfortunately, are far from lacking in fleets, and have conquered Cuba and the Bahamas. Furthermore, Ovo declares war, and occupies the remaining islands.
  • The armies land in Britain, beginning what is called The Salt War. They are quickly running low on supplies and the local defenders, although caught off guard, have a significant technological advantage. Wielding muskets and cannons, they are able to easily destroy Katian armies twice their size in the field.
  • The Sun Cat worshipers accept Solaire as analogous to the Sun Cat.
  • New military units specially made for the Salt War are arranged. A type of storm trooper known as the Bunker Cats storm defenses with ranged weapons such as bows and crossbows to fire at point-blank ranges. the Thieving Cats corps is used to steal weapons and find ways of replicating them.
  • Thanks to the valiant efforts of the various Cat forces, cannons are being reproduced and used for Katian armies.

Levantine Republic
Stalemate

Government: Republic
Culture: Religious Freedom, Persian Heritage, Egalitarianism, Compulsory Education
Economy: Maritime Mercantile
Military: Rogue Army, Knightly Orders, Republican Guard (spies)
Tech: Musket, Cannon, Sail Ships

  • With significant funding from Riveria a canal is cut through Africa at Suez through the use of mass labor and gunpowder explosives. The Red Sea is now connected to the Mediterranean.
  • Friendly relations are established with Zanzibar.
  • Muslim missionaries travel to Syserror, attempting to re-convert the region to Islam. This state-funded operation causes a massive uproar among Jewish, Infinitist, and Christian communities, who protest this act of religious favoritism.
  • A fleet is sent to the East Indies and a string of colonial forts are established. Exotic spices are capable of being farmed in the surrounding lands, and a few ambitious individuals have established plantations there.

Dathuastan
Soviet Marmalade

Government: Republican Monarchy
Culture: Floating Homes, Ship Builders, Tide God, Persian Heritage, Compulsory Education, Eagle Reverence
Economy: Maritime Mercantile
Military: Corsvaires Order, Immortals
Tech: Musket, Cannon, Sail Ships

  • The Corsvaires are equipped with muskets and trained to snipe soldiers off enemy ships.
  • An expedition sails for Indochina and conquers Cambodia.
  • Eagles are revered as something special. People yearn to own them as pets and respect those who already have one.
  • The Immortals are modernized, being given muskets, pikes, and fancy ceremonial steel helmets.

Doon
Laud Piestrings

Government: Republic
Culture: Talion Law, Tedizm, Tundra Living, Ice Structures, Egalitarianism
Economy: Agrarian
Military: Eits Spy Network
Tech: Musket, Cannon, Sail Ships

  • Another attempt is made to make contact with Iroquoia. Unfortunately, the Iroquois are still cold and silent.
  • The military is reformed into various separate branches. The most significant development is the separation of the army into a defense force and an abroad force.
  • The districts are reorganized for efficiency and fairness to the people who live in them and new term limits are decided upon for senators. A total of 150 senators now serve in the capital, representing provinces from far and wide.
  • Funding is given to education and the arts.

Polis
Sergeant Arch Dornan

Government: Theocratic Republic
Culture: Solairism, Turtle Status, Dancing Revolution, Holy Women, Persian Heritage, Compulsory Education, State Mafia
Economy: Coastal Agrarian
Military: Sun Warrior Fanatics, Theft Tactics, Assassin Agency
Tech: Musket, Cannon, Sail Ships

  • A federal bureau is established called the Polis Assassin Agency. Their purpose is… obvious.
  • One particularly curious city, Anor Londo, decides to devote itself entirely to Solaire, building murals and shrines in every conceivable bit of free space. Landscapes and paintings of the sun are exported and very cheap prices from Anor Londo, now filling the homes of most middle-class families.
  • Trench coats are popular in Polis, for one reason or another.
  • Only the best can get into the exclusive clubs of Polis and view the exotic dancers.

Vakun
You Are Reading This

Government: Republican Monarchy
Culture: Megalith Temples, Tengriism Faith, Long Songs
Economy: Agrarian
Military: Legions, "Gray Men"
Tech: Musket, Cannon, Sail Ships

  • The Long Song becomes popular. Composers become famous writing such pieces, which are performed all throughout Europe.
  • The legion is completely restructured around musket-based combat and cannon support.
  • Education is encouraged, but not required. Philosophy and science are promoted with grants and scholarships.
  • Financial aid is given to the Swords, but with the state their country is in there is little that Vakuni pittance can do to help.

Mac Tíre-Madra
Spider-Byte

Government: Monarchy
Culture: Sacred Dogs, Tirius Worship, Famous Ale
Economy: Maritime Mercantile, Clothing Hegemony
Military: Warrior Society, Legions, Criminal Army
Tech: Musket, Cannon, Sail Ships

  • A large force of longboats arrives from overseas bearing Katian soldiers. The armies, being positioned in Iberia and Marrakesh, are unable to respond quickly enough and the Katians gain ground and then dig into their positions. Local defenders are able to deal significant blows, however, due entirely to their technological superior weaponry.
  • The King blames the financial blunder on his financial adviser, who is promptly jailed. The banking institutions of Europe are wary, but some trust has been gained. Interest rates are high, but will gradually lower over time if MacTire maintains its honesty.
  • Soldiers start to find meat in their rations as more money is pushed into military spending. Riverian beef is imported to feed the troops and, as their standard of living increases, many people choose to volunteer for military service.
  • The straits of Gibraltar are occupied by ships which now demand a toll for passage.

Ovo
Twisty

Government: Republic
Culture: God Questing, Cumpulsory Education, Egalitarian
Economy: State Mercantilism, Prime Manufacturer, Paper Currency
Military: Austere Elites, Dragoons Hospitaller, Advanced Tactics
Tech: Musket, Cannon, Sail Ships

  • Divisions of mounted musketmen – dragoons – are incorporated into the army.
  • The Carribean is invaded and very easily occupied due to the total lack of military forces in the region. The Sun Pope is captured.
  • The feudal lords are demoted into ceremonial roles as the state gains more power.
  • Funding is directed towards cultural pursuits. Temples and theaters are constructed in new and exciting styles. New quarries are dug to carve the granite and marble required, and the economy is better for it.
  • Ovon wine becomes the recognized industry standard for its quality and refinement.
  • Financial aid is sent to the Swords, but it fails to make any kind of an impact. The financial crisis that they are experiencing is simply astronomical.

Monarchy of Roses
Tchefuncte Bonaparte

Government: Monarchy
Culture: Warrior Poets, Gender Equality, Religious Tolerance
Economy: Agrarian
Military: Merchant Marine
Tech: Musket, Cannon, Sail Ships

  • A hasty evacuation saves the royal family from capture. They re-establish court in La Plata. Civilians are vacated to Africa, where they make a final stand against the Swords. Unfortunately, they are defeated, and the prisoners are ransomed to their families in Iberia. The war is lost, and the Monarchy is now confined to Argentina.
  • The Merchant Marine valiantly rescues many thousands of soldiers and many more civilians from the path of war, moving them to safety in Argentina.
  • Ships are sent to bombard the MacTire capital. They do not manage to land in the city and burn it, but many coastal buildings are destroyed before the fleet retreats.
  • Another detachment lands in the Sword capital. Marines storm the harbor and the ships bombard the city for weeks. By the time Sword armies arrive, the lands surrounding the city have been burned and most of the populace has fled. The Roses are forced to retreat back to Argentina, refusing to be surrounded, but have essentially destroyed the city.
  • While in their capital, the Sword treasury is raided, adding significant quantities of gold and silver to the treasury in La Plata. This has also caused the death knell of the Sword economy, plunging it into chaos immediately after their final victory in Marrakesh.

Zellania
Naschzaube Maus

Government: Elected Dictatorship
Culture: Tide God, Bakuki Theater, Hostage Nobles, Lion Pride
Economy: City-State Maritime Mercantile
Military: Vetting
Tech: Musket, Cannon, Sail Ships
Flashpoints: Presidio's Army

  • Random investigations become commonplace throughout the bureaucracy to keep spies from making networks in Zellania.
  • A charismatic racist militant known as Benito Presidio has formed a militia and is now marching up and down the coast, lynching criminals and raiding the homes of minorities. Slavs, in particular, are targeted. Slavia has requested that Zellania mobilize its army to take down this rebel before they are forced to get involved to protect Slavs in Zellania.
  • The Vakuni border is fortified.
  • Missionaries are sent to Katia to preach the word of the one true god. However, many encounter the armies of Ovo and various blood-worshipers and become entangled in the ongoing conflict. Opting not to stay in the midst of a war, most missionaries return home.

Naval Monte
CrowTheMagician

Government: Constitutional Republic
Culture: Totemic Rites, Gender Equality, Infinity Faith, Meritocracy, Persian Heritage, Egalitarianism, Compulsory Education, Guilds, Sexual Rev.
Economy: State Mercantilism, Glass Hegemony
Military: Meritocracy, Shadow Men
Tech: Musket, Cannon, Sail Ships

  • The fleet is modernized. Galleys are abandoned entirely as sail ships become more maneuverable and cannons allow them to attack from a range, rather than rely on ramming and quick maneuvers.
  • Fleets of new ships are sent to South Africa. They discover a land very similar to their North African homeland, and colonists flock to the new land. The colony flourishes, but comes under attack occasionally by Zulu natives. Muskets prove to be more effective than spears, and the colonists win in every engagement.
  • Infinitism spreads through Africa as missionaries sweep across the continent. Additionally, these pious men map the continent on their travels.
  • The sex revolution reaches Naval Monte. Swingers become common, and marriage declines. Diseases previously confined mostly to brothels and whore houses are now running rampant throughout the nation's cities as people freely engage in "activities" at unprecedented levels.
  • A scientific theorist writes a treatise known as The Theory of Invention in which he details his method for creating and testing theories and developing innovations. The idea quickly spreads throughout Europe, and this new "scientific method" is being used by theorists everywhere to test their ideas. The medieval methods of alchemy and sorcery are now at an end.

Kingdom of Riveria
Crimeariver

Government: Feudal Monarchy
Culture: Dendrolatry, Spruceborn Faith, Economic Principles, Persian Heritage, State Religion
Economy: State Mercantilism, Banking Hegemony
Military: Civic Duty Army, Fortified Alps
Tech: Musket, Cannon, Sail Ships

  • With Riverian funding, the Levantine succeed in constructing a canal to the Red Sea.
  • Angular battlements are added to the Alp wall and forts are redesigned into Star shapes to deflect cannon fire.
  • Riverian banks become known as being the safest and most reliable in Europe. Much money is made from the bankruptcy of the Sword States and extortion-level interest rates on MacTire loans.
  • Most Riverian children say they want to grow up to be bankers and live in spruce tree-houses.

States of the Rising Sword
TillsterRulz

Government: Republican Monarchy
Culture: Honor, Meritocratic Mystery Cults, Meritocracy, Guilds
Economy: State Mercantilism, Crashed
Military: Bonfire Watchtowers
Tech: Musket, Cannon, Sail Ships
Flashpoints: Bankruptcy, Starving Populace, Mutinies

  • Batteries of cannons are set up at the straits of Gibraltar, destroying any Rose ship which attempts to make it through.
  • A national anthem is composed. It is nice.
  • Now that the war is all but won, the economic fate of the Swords is tossed back to the capitalists.
  • Strategic locations on the coast are fortified in the north.
  • The capital has been sacked by Rose marines. By the time the armies move back north to fight back, the enemy has fled and the city nearly razed to the ground.
  • The fraud crisis has culminated with state bankruptcy. The razing of the capital, along with the raiding of the state treasury there, has put the States in a terrible economic position. The armies cannot be paid for and productive enterprises are unable to purchase goods from state-owned importers. No foreign bank is willing to give loans to alleviate the crisis. Starving unemployed city dwellers clog the streets waiting in bread lines to buy food that does not exist and soldiers are deserting left and right. A few foreign nations send aid, but it is far from enough to even make a difference.

Syserror
Butterscotch (of Death)

Government: Republic
Culture: Kebab Faith, Free Religion, Persian Heritage, Sexual Rev.
Economy: Maritime Mercantile
Military: Military Schooling, Iskender Dragoons
Tech: Musket, Cannon, Sail Ships

  • The Iskender knights are retrofit with muskets and become mounted dragoons.
  • The consuls have gradually lost power over the centuries, and now the senate holds most power. Syserror can be considered a republic now.
  • War is declared on the Silver Horde. They cannot handle a war on two fronts, especially against opponents with such superior weaponry, and they fall quickly.
  • A fort is built in Mauritania. Some native peoples attack the fort, but they suffer greatly at the muskets and cannons. Contact is made with the Songhai Empire, which seems to be more hospitable towards foreigners than the tribals.
  • Tourism is subsidized. Many visit solely for the lax sex laws.
  • The walls of Constantinople are hollowed, reinforced, and transformed into apartments.
  • Kebabist Berbers are approached with an offer of alliance. For the most part, these people are divided into a myriad of tribes, and gaining the loyalty of one tribe or another does little to gain any ties of political relevance in the region.
  • The discovery and categorization of Sexually Transmitted Diseases has occurred due to their increased prevalence in society since the sex laws were cast down. A noted pathologist publishes a book regarding his research, On Brothels and Sickness, which revolutionizes theory and thought on disease.

Well it seems that little war fucked me over quite a bit. And with the land essentially conquered I think it's time for peace and possibly negotiations.

Looks like in this game my nation was the birth place for the scientific method, awesome.

@TillsterRulz

What do expected from war even if you win you still have to pay for all the damages your enemies cause towards you.

@Crow
Well I didn't expect an army to come across the ocean to plunder my capital and every good I own and have people thrive off my demise.

A treaty is in the works, hopefully it can set things right between me and the other two and get trade going back into my country.

@Spider
Inb4 he dies and the natives steal his cannons

@Spidey

Mate, even if I do survive I will not have a place to stay.
If I go north I have to mess with Doons.
If I go south I have to colonize Africa.
If I go east I have to fight the Ovoains
If I go west, we'll I'm dead.
So yeah, a bandit life for me is a bandit a bandit death for you.

Spider-Byte wrote:

His antics brings back memories of my first time being in a Nation RP and how throughout that game I often did many things just to avoid the reaper's scythe. My greatest act of survival was changing my government from it's previous form to one that not only brought respect from the bots that were surrounding me but dodged a messy battle that could have happen if I didn't do that change.

No I meant I'm gonna wipe out your people and then you send ships to nowhere land and still live,

I wasn't implying that, but alright if you feel like that.

And this there's nowhere I can go without a fight.
I did this cannons and I got my cannons.

Current state of Syserror:

@Spider Byte

You'll more than likely oust him once your forces return home.

Next he'll pack up and sail to Antarctica, somehow manage to get there alive and convert all the penguins to Blood God

Mr.Stalker wrote:

Yeah.

I mean it doesn't make sense to attack land no one owns or the land of the people who captured your spiritual leader.

Spider-Byte wrote:

Yeah my "pope".

Sure he is the "Pope", but he is no Pope of ours if he didn't join the salty war.
Also Africa is hard to colonize without cannons. And I did this for cannons.

I doubt my people will survive the frozen hell that is Antarctica though I wouldn't mind having pet penguins. But now with me gaining ground on South Africa let's see if my new C.I.C strategy will work.

>inb4 Syserror and Naval Monte becoming one nation called "Kingdom of the Orgies"

Can someone send me soldiers? NOT THE ONES THAT HAVE THE UNCONTROLLABLE URGE FOR SEX.
Gonna use them to wage war with the Golden Horde.
I want more land.

@Soviet

Maybe in some bizarre alternative universe that can happen but other than that the chances of those two nations becoming one are low, Syserror and Naval Monte are just too different in several key parts to prevent that from ever happening.

Current state of the Swords:

@Soviet
I would be willing to do that, but many are rebelling against me and are starving to death

@Laud
I don't think I'll be fucking with the largest country on the planet anytime soon

damn, even in my incursion to the caribbeans i was still cock-blocked by the americans.

there seems to be almost no way to get land there without battling it seems, which is sad because i got very little land

Mr.Stalker wrote:

nah stealing your pope was more fun

plus they would have taken the land anyways

"The straits of Gibraltar are occupied by ships which now demand a toll for passage."

There will be a price to pay for this.

(Also, no comments on Benito Presidio? Here's a hint: The last name is Italian for something)

I have a feeling this involves usurpation.

I like this idea. What do you say, Naval Monte? Lets get down, dirty and make some colonies together..

Also Dathustan, whether you like it or not you're definitely going to be receiving help with the Golden Horde from hot and horny Syserrene soldiers.

My burly warriors have been fucking each other in the ass extra hard just for this chance to bring the roughest, sweatiest and readiest fight to the mongols. They will no doubt serve as the best possible choice for your men to fight alongside with (uncomfortably)

Sorry but no turn tonight. I simply have run out of time today. I will not be accepting any edits, as I have already written a portion of the turn. I will, however, accept new actions from players who have not sent them yet.

Not really. I went shopping after work, so I do not have enough time as I usually do.
I might publish it later today, but for now I am going to bed.
