Syserrene missile defenses are able to track down and shoot about half of the missiles and jet planes passing over their territory, preventing most strikes against Naval Monte, Vakun, Zellania, Dathuastan, and the Swords.

Crazy Svald rested in a Doonish enclave in Syserror who founded Doonsney World. The most magical place in the Sahara. Loved by Syserror, Doons and Berbers alike

In a final hurrah, they launch their arsenal entirely upon China, who they hate the most for backstabbing them, and the advancing armies, which are not nearly as concentrated as cities are and make poor targets.
  *Most Indian royal families are cornered in central India, fleeing back and forth from advancing armies. Many commit suicide, refusing to be captured and devoted entirely to their emperor. The nation is heartbroken that he, too, does not commit noble suicide and instead allows himself to be captured like a coward.
• China stands on the brink of collapse with the latest round of nuclear attacks. Its government is barely holding together what few resources it has left. The party leader has admitted "war was a mistake."

However, this does little to curb terrorism, and it is virtually impossible to cover every single way into Doon, especially considering how massive the country is. The most that the DHS does for Doon is provide civil rights activists something to complain about.
• Tanks are developed. The technology is mostly used to mechanize the existing infantry. Armored vehicles for transporting troops are designed to move across all terrains.
• The draft is enacted. All citizens as young as 18 and as old as dead are eligible.
• An investigation of the crash at Crazy Svald's Saharan super-store has revealed that the terrorists used coil guns in the attack. A military base is built here to prevent future attacks.
• The invasion of Mexico is going poorly. Every time a region seems secure, a sniper or mortar takes out a half dozen infantry or an armored vehicle. Children are being used to sneak explosives past checkpoints, or even straight into checkpoints for detonation there. The Doonish people are tired of this fruitless war and some are advocating an immediate end; they say to cut the nation's losses and let Mexico destroy itself on its own.

• Utilizing Doonish Tesla coils a new type of gun is invented which fires electric bolts. These 'arc guns' are ridiculously unreliable, striking targets at random making them impossible to aim. They are mostly useful for air and anti-air weaponry, as this leaves them with few targets other than enemy planes. Usefully, the speed of lightning is faster than anything man can create and it tends to latch onto things which are invisible to any other form of detection, making these coils the perfect defensive weapon against stealth planes and missiles of any size.
• An attempt is made at returning to some kind of democratic government, but the Enclave refuses to do more than establish a symbolic congress. Voting is more of a ceremonial procedure than an effective one.
• A constitution guaranteeing the rights of the people is written up. Although the government is able to circumvent these rights with ease, at the very least it stands as a positive precedent to stop the most egregious of state crimes.
• Tiny nuclear weapons are equipped in the place of conventional bombs on warplanes. This can only go badly.
• Polic forces continue their push into India.

A new naval strategy is employed using these new vessels called the Carrier Battle Group. Air power is clearly the way of the future, but projecting that power is most easily done by control of the sea. Super-carriers, defended by nuclear submarines, stealth destroyers, missile cruisers, and many other modern ships, set sail around the world to project Syserrene dominance of the skies upon every continent.
• Veterens are given government stipends.
• Alternative voting is introduced.
• The airlines, if not already under state control, are now nationalized. Cables are laid under the ocean for intercontinental telecommunication.
• The old Kebabist sexual ideal is dug up and presented as a communist theory. Condoms are now provided for free by the state.
• Relief efforts and evacuations are conducted for locations struck by nuclear weapons.
• The Iskenders are transfered over to heavier vehicles and become a tank unit.
• Keeping with the Iskender Order's traditions, a new group known as the Airskenders is created. Knights of the air as they are, they bring tradition and nobility to the skies.
• The Mexicans are removed from Errmerica.
• A massive troop surge of unprecedented scale is launched upon Mexico.
• Mexico city is captured and urban guerrilla combat ensues. Syserrene soldiers are dying daily to an enemy they cannot easily identify in a land which should technically be entirely secure due to the sheer size of the occupying forces.
• A terror attack is conducted in the capital. Several youths, second generation Pathmaker immigrants, are enthused by the words of an extremist foreign Blood Cult preacher and get their hands on some automatic weapons and bombs. They attacked a crowded bus terminal near the city's airport and then took hostages within the building before being besieged by police. All of the terrorists were killed in the engagement, and over a hundred civilians were killed. People are complaining that the KGB should have been able to prevent this.

I am assuming that those things come with the battleships tech. Battleships is supposed to be all naval warfare vessels from around 1900 to 1950. If it was not invented or pioneered in that era then it goes in Carrier Battle Groups.

TURN 21

Tech Tree

Due to the length of time that it takes to write each turn now, as well as the fact that the game has come into a kind of near-end state, I will not be writing further beyond turn 22. If anybody who is not a current player wants to take on the role of writing turns please nominate yourself. I will pick the user that I trust the most to pass on the torch to. If nobody comes forward then the game will end with an epilogue on turn 22 and that will be that.

For some of you I only mentioned techs in your turn if you were the first to invent them. Also, I generally ignored infrastructural improvements (pave the roads, build airports, build missile silos, etc.) and very specific government civil policies (legalizing robot marriage, veterans benefits, prison system reform, etc.) for this turn. This was all to make the turn faster to write. These things take a monstrous amount of time to put together now and for the past five turns or so I could not even write in half of the NPC stuff that I want to save on time and focus on the quality of player nations. This is the main reason I am deciding to call for an end.

• Socorro Island, the last bit of unclaimed habitable land on Earth, is taken by the Pathmakers. Certain individuals toss around the idea of renaming it to Futballo Island or even Sportsballo. Refusing to take sides in this asinine debate, the island is renamed to Emerald Isle instead.
• Mexico is gradually turning back entirely towards the Blood Cult as its message begins to resonate with youths who have lost family members to Syserrene air strikes. As the war ramps up in severity with more invaders participating and the use of nuclear weapons, Blood Cult preachers are able to very easily validate their ancient dogma.
• The Pathmakers are calling for a withdrawal from Mexico. They have mobilized their armies and it is possible that they may intervene if the situation grows any worse. Their allegiance is still with European powers, but Pathmaker leaders are able to recognize that the situation is botched beyond repair and that European involvement needs to end for the blood cult to recede in power.

• The Pathmakers are appalled at the nuking of Mexico, and have enacted a full embargo of Doon. The borders are closed and their army is mobilized. They demand an immediate cessation of nuclear exchanges on their continent and have promised war if another bomb is dropped.
• Civilians are peacefully protesting in great numbers outside the capital building. They are demanding an end to the war and the use of nuclear weapons.
• Relief aid is sent to China. Workers are sent to radiation zones to help the injured or trapped escape to safer areas.
• A massive wall is built at Panama. Anybody approaching the wrong side of it is shot on sight.
• The Department of Homeland Security is decommissioned.

It is now the standard language of most art schools and television stations. A huge portion of the population is bilingual in Japanese and Italian.

This debate is being held on a global scale as MacTire androids make their way onto the various foreign markets.
• Mexico is invaded. The MacTire are added to the ever-growing list of possible terrorist targets. An android posing as Viktir is sent to convince the Mexicans of his right to rule. An attempt is made on his life at least once per week. The Mexicans very vocally demand that MacTire leave their country.

• Ironically, fascism is officially denounced immediately following a very fascist law.
• The Emperor of the Holy Persian Empire is executed for his war crimes and because almost none of the men who actually commanded these crimes to be committed were able to be found; they either committed suicide or are in a very, very good hiding place abroad.

Exports of these top-of-the-table elements, especially Helium, improve drastically. Most of the nation is now run on fusion power and the nuclear arsenal is being replaced with fusion bombs.
• Massive tunnels beneath the Alps, some of them as ancient as the old inner wall itself, are expanded and deepened beyond anything ever done before. Valuable surface land is being reserved for environmental reclamation and traditional farming while underground cities grow rapidly in prominence. This is fueled both by the easy availability of power since the development of fusion, as well as the very real possibility of a nuclear armageddon in the near future.
• A handful of malcontents take to the streets, waving Sportsball signs in the air. They soon become tired of it and return to their homes.

• Cleaning up radiation in occupied India is more difficult than one would imagine. Instead, the most dangerous areas are simply quarantined and aid is focused on helping those who survived.
• An ICBM carrying METAL GEAR is created. It is as unweildly as the others, and falls apart upon launch of the missile. However, considering the size and importance of such missiles, the purpose of this METAL GEAR would essentially end once the ICBM was launched, making its survival of the launch a moot point. They now rove the countryside, carrying the Sword nuclear arsenal and keeping it on the move, making their weapons difficult to track or destroy.
• A new holiday, VI-Day, is celebrated to commemorate the end of the war in India.

• Polic power armor is imported and augmented with nano-machinery.
• The fascist rulers of Mexico are arrested. Their regime instantly crumbles and the Syserrene governor who replaced them is unable to consolidate their former assets.
• New factions rise in Mexico. Internationally they are recognized as terrorist organizations and thus cannot be negotiated with, even if they were willing to do so. Achtohtli has taken the north while the Tletlcoatls and Taxolal Mexica have taken up the south. All three fight with each other at their borders, but rapidly abandon their disputes whenever a Syserrene target of opportunity arrises.
• Due to continued aggression, many Mexicans are turning towards the blood cult. This has caused severe stability issues for the communist front, which has lost large swaths of their southern region to defectors joining Taxolal Mexica.
• Mexico is becoming a severe human rights crisis. The locals are turning down any kind of charity that Syserror offers, and the entire population seems to be mobilized against them. Counter-insurgency forces often find themselves fighting against child soldiers and suicide bombers, driving down morale and bringing negative international attention.
• The Pathmakers are becoming increasingly concerned about the Mexican situation. Syserrene diplomatic experts are convinced that they may soon intervene, especially considering Doon's recent use of nuclear weapons.
• Forces north of Mexico city are retreated south to focus in on defeating the fascists there.
• Air strikes are conducted regularly against confirmed terrorist encampments. The issue with this is that any structure in Mexican society can be easily considered a terrorist stronghold, allowing some operatives to go beyond the call of duty and occasionally strike targets which cause more public outrage than damage to the enemy. Blood cult shrines in particular tend to act as podiums for voicing discontent with Syserror and Doon, and many recruiters canvas these areas for new soldiers. When a shrine is struck down, often two or three new ones are established in other buildings in the same city.
