Yeah, if you somehow knew my personality IRL you would know how much I hate any type of change. Whether it be painting a room or going on an unexpected vacation.

I guess I'll start thinking about things to debate, for my sake and the sake of the thread.
We just need one good day to start things off…

Super big discussion, wanted to read all of it, just read part, no clue how to respond except that I've been thinking of this place as "Brony General" as opposed to it's true name for the longest time now…

Well guys, I'm impressed. You managed to fit in shipping, a couple of image dumps, a couple of burried posts, and filled 2 pages, all while I was asleep. As for Conor, I'm glad to see his KYM name and icon matches his Steam. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some corn flakes to eat. Aslo, here's something to add to that "When I'm drunk" vid last page:

I think this describes Berry perfectly.

Ironically I do hate it, but you must adapt to it, because no matter what you do, things will change one way or another. I get really pissed when I have to move to a new neighborhood, I do not have a social life and I still get ticked…it's because I'm so used to and comfortable of where I am… But I will get used to it afterwards.
It happens to all of us, and we can see if we can try to help you through it as much as possible.
Right bronies?
But we should try to make it so the thread is about of what the title says it is.
Also good morning.

I moved a lot early on, so that kinda screwed up my ability to make bonds with people. I never got the expierence needed to make friends. As a result, I have very little people I hang out with. Most of the time the interaction takes place at the lunch table or waiting for school to start in the morning. The few friends that I do spend time with after school are usualy busy, or they live too far away. Now I sit here in the basement, communicating to all of you, and it's been fun. I feel better than I have in years. It's basicly what I look foreward to every day. I may not be as stuck in my ways as Ric or Conor, but I still would hate it if the few friends I have were gone. Remember, if you need cheering up, I'm always here.

The corn flakes were delicous, by the way.

Yeah, I can agree with that. Its pony (not brony) general. So… how do we make it what it was?

How about we make a discussion about the show or something…I'm not good at giving ideas of what subject but make it 100% pony related.

I never seen yellow cheeries before!..only red ones.
But I guess AJ is mad or something because of Big mac and Mrs. Cheerilee…this came from the new episode that is gonna air tomorrow right?

… um no, you're thinking of the valentines day episode in another 3 weeks or so. This is from "The Last Roundup" which premiers tomorrow.

And yellow cherries are real, and delicious, and really delicious.

Sunhammer wrote:

It's from the new one for tomorrow. The one with CherMac isn't until FEB 11. YouTube alerts me to Subbs faving things, I got this from Living Tombstone's activity.

Oh…I am curious of what it is all about…It is sad to see AJ to leave the farm… :(
But she will be back at it in the end.. I'm sure of it.

Gigs is right, yellow cherries are delicous. And yes, Ric, she will be back. Mlp wouldn't do something that would permenently damage the storyline. Episodes of shows like Mlp are just short stories with the same characters, and they have very little to do with each other, never making much of an impact on the other's tale, yet still form one story.

Im surprised no one has mentioned that that clip is an homage to I love lucy. When they mentioned chocolate rain, star wars, and the big lebowski, that was all anyone could talk about. I guess its because I love lucy isn't exactly popular amongst the fan base. Too bad, that show is timeless.

There's still a little bit of continuity though, it's not like SpongeBob or something where the universe completely resets between each episode. The characters change and develop over time (without deviating too much from their main focuses of course) and they remember events that transpire in previous episodes.

This, coupled with it's fantastically well defined and fleshed out universe is what puts FiM head and shoulders above other modern cartoons like Adventure Time.

Well I noticed it, and I know EqD noticed it. I don't think it's really a matter of popularity, more that we've all seen this scene parodied a thousand times before. Though to be fair, this one's a lot more subtle then you're average show would do it. (it's not even the main focus of the scene, which is nice)

It's because I love Lucy is way older. The oldest homage until this was Star Wars, and everyone has at least heard of it. Lucy may be well known, but it's a show watched by a age group WAY out of Mlp's target audience, even older than Bronies. But the fans that do watch it were probably raised on it, or their parents still watch it.
As for Gigs, yes, there's continuity, but it's rarely changed. What happenes happened, but it doesn't seem to affect later episodes to a degree of show-changing proportions.
What was the homage anyway?

@Gigatoast
Can you give examples of it being parodied before? I can only think of the actual episode.

@Nemisis Pro
I suggest you watch the whole episode. Watching Ricky and fred trying to cook 1lb of rice per person with a whole chicken in the pressure cooker is a fucking riot. Honestly, I love that show. Ive seen the whole series multiple times( I have the Boxset) and I have almost every special edition Iove lucy barbie. another good episode is the John wayne episode in hollywood or the vitavegimin girl episode.

Well, I have seen this scene parodied many time, but never made the connection to Lucy. The only examples I can think of were in Drake and Josh, and a few other shows. Most of them come from Nick's crappy SitComs.

Well, that explains it. I hate all those sitcoms on Nick.

I remember when cartoons and shows were actualy good. I may be a minor, but I still love old shows. Not as old as Lucy, but still, shows like The A-Team, Samurai Jack, and a bunch more are still my favorites.

Is anyone else beginning to think the makers of MLP watched ALOT of TV and movies when they were younger?

Lets look at Sibsy. She's a big fan of Darkwing Duck, a classic example of the "caped crusader" archetype. What do we get this season? Mare-Do-Well, a caped crusader.

Faust has come out and said she's a huge Trekkie. We get a Q-esque character by the name of Discord.

Now we get a "I love Lucy" reference.

The quoted post has been deleted.

Not allowed to post autoplaying videos anywhere except for one's own wall. I learned that the hard way :(

Sigh. Your guys' posts are making me all sad. It's hard to enjoy this fandom when so many bronies talk about how much they're not interested in the show anymore.

Ric Te$l@ wrote:

Who is trolling the pony entry? and spamming videos with what exactly?

Some guy is posting r34 and gore in the main page. So I posted some autoplaying pony videos in his comments to troll him. But now I can't delete those posts.

PS: Yes, I do apologize to KYM for breaking da rulez and realize I made a no-no. Sometimes, I forget how to control my inner troll.

You've awakened the wrath of the Dark Lord! You've doomed us all! Just kidding. I accidentally stumbled upon the pics. Oh…..my….goddess!

If you want to make the thread once was…then gives us an Idea for a discussion because we practically have nothing atm.
(No I am not the one that -1 down you, I rarely do that).

Dammit, I'm gone fotr a couple hours, and you're all in chaos! I'm the only one who's allowed to cause the chaos around here! Cite, I still love the show. Everyone else, you want a discussion topic? Here's one:
Human Ponies, Y/N and why. Now stop complaining of boredem and discuss!

Although I agree with Ric's "OH YOU!" picture, I also agree with you. Although it's an important issue that's worthy of some discussion, I think it's been covered fairly thoroughly over the past few weeks. And it is a bit depressing to boot, so I agree that this thread isn't the place to complain about how we don't like the show as much as we used to.

@Pyro: what do you mean, "Human ponies"? Are you talking about anthro art?

YES. And whether or not they should be frowned upon. Now…………..BEGIN!
Remember, I still have that happy vid stockpile, I don't want to have to use it……………….

Should I prepare the adorable pony pics just in case? Or is it not needed right now?

Doesn't everyone watch a lot of TV and movies when they're young?

Huh? Who said that? I sure as hell didn't, the show is even better now I reckon.
