copy the YouTube link into Keepvid Bar. Allow java to run and voila. You can download 240p-1080p depending on the available stream to get any episode you need in HD.
Don't need to download or purchase their program. Just use the Java link one.

@ Ric oh sure, your "sister" and not you. Yes, I believe you. Ill look into it. :P

I appreciate the offer, but I'm hoping to watch a version of the show that WASN'T ripped directly from a TV recording.

I'm personally debating whether or not I should buy the series now or wait for it to come out on DVD.

Hey guys!
How is everyone?
Just got back from my Christmas adventure in Liverpool. Hope everyone had as good a Christmas as I did. But enough of the Christmas good times, that's old news now. Back to ponies!

@Ric
Followed!
I suck at questions though so I didn't ask one

I used to buy stuff, then I ran out of money (yay holidays). Oh and DVD sucks in terms of quality. at 720×480 vs HD 1920×1080 or 1280×720. Just buy it on iTunes then.

I'm not entirely sure what to think about it. In some ways it's interesting that such an acute expression of humanity would occur to someone drawing humanized ponies – usually they tend to be pretty generic and/or pornographic. This is taking the humanization to the next level. Quite literally. But at the same time, it's sort of…sickening too, because that is something that clearly has no place within the show itself. It's not something that I like to think about, humanized or not, and it's almost as if it's legitimizing all the R34 by showing its consequences. What are your reactions?

God only knows what happens when Gigatoast sees that link.

As for me, I stay with my common reaction. It's fanworks, why care?

"I HAVE DERPY! GIVE US MUFFINS! IT IS THE LAW!" (I know it's RD, but it shoulda been Derpy)

As for the picture I don't see much wrong with it, Joseco's humanizations are usually tasteful enough, even the "sexy" ones. A pregnant Twilight's mom is actually kinda sweet, I've seen pony versions of the same thing that where a lot creepier.

I may have stated this already, but humanization is one of my favourite types of pony art. It's always funny to see how would the mane six and other characters would look like as humans but all based on their physical and mental characteristics and the artists style of drawing.

But I see no prob in that pic at all. First you should thank that is a JJ's humanization not sexualized at all. It's kinda touching if you ask. And about legitimizing R34, I think Faust herself already did it (as shown by @Sandwichman) by stating that ponies are born the same way as every mammal. So yeah.

Last edited Dec 26, 2011 at 08:07PM EST

@Sandwichman:

…not entirely what I was getting at there. Of course reproduction occurs, that's a given, but reproduction and R34 are not the same. What I meant by "legitimizing" was more that the R34's been more clearly defined as a concrete event within the reproductive timeline (duh, right? well, read on).

When people create R34, they're doing it for pretty specific reasons and with pretty specific outcomes in mind, and pregnancy is not one of them. There's a difference in how most people view "sex" and "reproduction," and I think the picture links the two in a very down-to-earth way. Now that's okay in and of itself, but the problem is that most of what goes on in the R34 world is pretty goddamn depraved, and it's not something that most people would like to think goes on in Equestria (we've been through this ad nauseam).

So my issue is that the picture links all that nastiness that goes on in R34 with the natural reproductive cycles of ponies. Usually those things are highly separate in my mind, but for some reason, this just blurred them together. But that's just how I see it, which is why I'm curious to hear other peoples' reactions.

@Giga and Dr. Greg: You both think it's a sweet (emotionally) picture. I should explain my view: I see Twilight as being somewhat melancholy here. There's something in her expression that, to me, shows regret and sadness. Also, the fact that she's alone speaks volumes to me too.

Of course, I could easily be off in my own little world of interpretation here, but that's just how I see it.

And yes, Giga, I totally agree that that should have been Derpy and not RD.

INB4 BSOD: Yes, true, but where's the fun in that? You know I like to overanalyze everything…

Last edited Dec 26, 2011 at 08:15PM EST

My sister made a Derpy tumblr she just started it today and she would love it if some one asked her questions.
It’s also a drawn tumblr too if that sparks your interests.
Here is the URL: http://askderpy-drwhooves.tumblr.com/

The BSOD has just paid a 'visit'….hehehehehehe

I see that and I just think "Well that's just JJ for you"

He's always trying to make Bronies as unconformable as possible and he will draw to extreme lengths to do it. That's just how he rolls. I don't allow myself to get into any deep thought over it for the sake of my own sanity

[edit]

INB4 OPSPE:

Alright lets overanalyze. Now looking at the picture one more time I actually do not see an expression of regret there. Instead I see more of a calm appreciative expression which is hinted by the eyes and the neutral smile

She may even feel proud of such an achievement which isn't a long stretch of the imagination. There isn't much context to go on here but she simply does not look like a rape victim or a dominatrix cosplay gone horribly wrong so the external factors of other R34 depictions can be ruled out…hopefully.

And we know that JJ isnt a one trick pony. He delves into wide array of artwork and doesn't limit himself to R34. For that reason we don't have to include the implications of his other work in here

So this allows the other posters to see the image as one with a rather sweet and tender message rather than one with a dark grizzly message. At least according to their perspectives anyway. There could be other external factors that cause your perspective to find something unsettling about the image

BSOD wrote:

Yes; I'm interpreting it by juxtaposition against most of his other work. Maybe that explains it?

When I saw the image I just thought 'daaaw, she's gonna have a baby'. That's probably because whenever I see an image like that, I take it as a whole new universe. I suppose that causes me to not think to deeply about these things. That's also probably why I don't have a head canon, I keep the show and every fan work in their own universes.

Fixed. It's Twi's mom (if that's official coloring that is).

You do realize you're taking money from Hasbro when you do this, right?
By taking money from Hasbro, you're taking money from ponies.
By taking money from ponies, you're taking away the show.
By taking away the show, you're taking away everything that still manages to make me smile.
Besides Zelda.
Dear God I love this game.

Just wondering, has anyone bothered donating to the Humble Brony Bundle? Things just got interesting, with Minecraft's Notch coming out of nowhere to snatch the position of top contributor. Over on EqD, Seth made a post to point this out, and it's genuinely motivated some bronies to donate (myself included). I know this may be one of those situations where some of you might complain that we're being too forceful and ruining a compeition or whatever, but I think this is a good cause no matter which way you look at it. If we win, then:

  • We beat Notch, which will be hilarious. It also gives bronies a better name.
  • A shitload of money goes to charity.

If we lose:

  • Ah well, at least we got second place. We'll try again next time.
  • A shitload of money still gets donated to charity.

The way I see things, it's a win-win situation here. I chipped in $20, but they'll accept less. Click the link at the top of this post if you're interested (don't donate directly, it won't count as a brony donation).

Click here to see the current standings

Edit: Holy crap, since I posted this, the total for bronies has increased by a further $850, so we now stand at $7,850! I think we can actually win this!

Hey guys, quick random question. If im going to get a US bank account (chequing). What are the banks to look for in either zero-fee or minimum fee. I know there are plenty of banks in the US and some people hate, some people love. I really don't care about anything other than the fee being as little as possible. Maybe throw a few links at me to compare banks and accounts and stuff. Thanks.

You know what, I'm doin' it. As soon as I activate my new debit card I'm gunna donate $50, maybe it's me trying to make up for being such a grump in the past or maybe these ponies are just getting to me.

Well, if you want to. That's a lot of money to donate to charity, so I wouldn't blame you if you decided to donate a little less. All my internetz if you go through with it though.

I probably shouldn't have donated so much myself. The money I've donated so far probably could have kept me fed for half a week down at uni. I just have to keep reminding myself 'at least you didn't blow it all on alcohol this time', and it doesn't seem so bad.

Just an update here: we're up to $8,050. Victory is within our grasp!

Alright, I've given the Bronyspeak (My Little Pony Catchphrases) article a massive rewrite.

- Title Changed.
- Added a section for Notable derivatives.
- Various catchphrases have been removed or replaced.
- Information added to various parts.
- Video section brought back to 9 videos, we were freezing computers here.
- Other things I might have forgotten.

Please check it out and give reviews.

Random: I like it overall, but I'm failing to see the distinction between "Notable Derivatives" and "Notable Catchphrases" – I think derivatives might not be the right word, maybe you should just ditch that heading and have "Royal Voice" and "Whining" on the same level as "Ponify."

Well I left because of I went to the movies toe watch "The Darkest Hour".
Awesome movie by the way.
SPOILER!
Likes how it takes place in Russia.
SPOILER STOPS HERE!
And I am going to bed because I am pooped and I am paranoid about power outages now….
So night all.

What a very derpy day…
Tomorrow imma get up early and attempt to finish my fic. If you guys had any ideas for what I could do for the unfinished parts please tell me. Hopefully I'll discover something in my sleep.
Anyway, goodnight.

@Random:
also isn't the royal voice called "Canter Lock"? or hasn't the fandom came up with a uniform name yet? It's the name EqD uses at least…

UPDATE:

After it went Over 9000, Notch….

(dons sunglasses)
was taken down a notch.

YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I got so excited I posted the news on the article too.

I was really happy to see that we won in the end. To think that our community was motivated to donate over $2000 in just one night is simply incredible. It's things like this that make me proud to be a part of this fandom. Epic brohoofs to everyone who helped out.

(Overused gif is overused. Someone make me a new one!)

The only thing bothering me is that Humble Brony Bundle is holding back some of the funds for the next donation. I wish we could just go all out now and set the highest record we possibly can. It would be amazing if we could top $10,000.

What exactly is IN the Humble Brony Bundle? I know it's a play off the Humble Indie Bundle, but what exactly is… in it? And stuff.

We don't get anything from it. If you donate directly to the Humble Indie Bundle you can get a bunch of games, but by donating via the Humble Brony Bundle you just do a standard donation. The funds are allocated in the following way:

  • 60% goes to the charities American Red Cross and Child's Play
  • 30% goes to supporting indie game developers
  • 10% goes to the company running the whole scheme

Not to sound like a prick, but donating to the Humble Indie Bundle not only nets you awesome games, but ALL the proceeds go to charity. Not 60%. 100% of the proceeds go to Red Cross and Child's Play.
Yeah, I know, kinda buzzkill, but still.
