What The Hell, Sure is a catchphrase, reaction image and exploitable meme inspired by a Q&A Instagram Story posted by Jemima Kirke, best known for playing the character Jessa in HBO's Girls. Sometime in January 2024, the actor wrote "What the hell, sure" in response to someone asking if she was queer. Kirk is also known for popularising the phrase I Think You Guys Might Be Thinking About Yourselves Too Much

On January 27th, 2024, the Instagram[1] page @girlsrewatchpodcast reposted a Story posted by Jemima Kirk, the actress who plays Jessa in HBO's Girls. The post showed her responding to some asking if she was queer by writing, "What the hell, sure" over a selfie. The post gathered over 12,000 likes in ten months.

On June 27th, X[2] user @onthattightrope reposted the image, writing, "the debate moderator after every incoherent response." The tweet was a reference to the June 2024 Presidential Debate between Biden and Trump, gathering over 80,000 likes in five months.
On September 27th, X[3] user @evermoresivy reposted the image, writing, "lana del rey picking a husband," in reference to the singer wedding an alligator wrangler. The post gathered over 130,000 likes in two months.
On October 20th, X[4] user @iconissue23 wrote, "accepting cookies on a website," gathering over 200,000 likes in a month.
On November 17th, X[5] user @thelouvre reposted the image, writing, "car got broken into and the only thing they took from me was my vaccine card," and gathering over 66,000 likes in a day.
