everytime you use FC it reminds me of the time i use to be in the sonic fandom
and i don't see anything wrong with mentioning the Sonic fandom

I'm the only person I know who knows the difference between an Original Character and a Fan Character, or at least cares enough to respect it. If I get more in the public eye I plan to change that.

I usually use FC when Gigatoast is around and I also think that FC is more correct than OC but I normally just use OC because that way more people understand what I'm talking about.

An FC is basically the same as an OC, OC is just a more widely used term and that's why we all say OC. There is really no point in arguing about it, this is the internet. You can yell about something as long as you want, everypony will just tune you out in the end. Now giga, if you would be so kind as to go into detail about the difference, we might just see things your way (you probably did that before in a previous thread but i wasn't there =D)

Well that was just bad luck, I haven't really gone postal about it that much since last time you where here, but I did explain it in a very long drawn out tutorial a while back.

I've been preachin' the ways of the FC since looooooooong before this thread, back when I was real into Invader Zim, but starting to branch out into the OC tournament scene. Nearly 4 years ago I made a comic on my old DA account where I tried to explain the difference. (be warned, the art is awful) But I think nowadays I could go into much more detail.

Alright people, these are the ponies we have so far. If you are in this image I can photoshop us all into a cool background scene.

There is still time to get included. All I need is a good clear shot of your OC. Preferably on a white background in general pose.

Now what kind of background scene should be use? I'm thinking stuff like upstate New York, Zombie Apocalypse, WWII, Serious Sam 3. I'm open to suggestion though

Now those same people are hitting RD with others jumping on the bandwagon. At this rate RD will be gone by tomorrow and then Fluttershy will be next.

I haven't read Past Sins, but why do people hate Nyx so much?

I got nothing against OC's (or FC's, you confused me now), but some seem to averse them like hell.

I'd love to go into a long debate over OCs and the various reasons people dislike them. I think some dislike Nyx because she's an accaptable alicorn OC. I would really like to hear Giga's personal reasons for disliking Nyx. So please do share them. I will retin I the morn to survey the carnage. :3

OP meaning overly powerful? I personally loved the story, it was the first fanfic I read after Cupcakes. Can you give me your reasons for disliking it too? I really want to know why some people love it and others hate it.

And yeah, she's overly powerful to me, i dunno. I only read the first three chapters a long time ago, everything seemed a bit too lucky and coincidental, it just didn't sit well in my mouth. I don't know, maybe i'm just hard to please as far as fan fics go, i mean my first was fallout equestria, that one sets the bar pretty damn high.

But I wanted a cupcake. ;_;

See my above post please. But I really do like it. The only fics that I don't like are SAM and Spideres. (Trolling lvl expert right there.)

Well personally I don't outright hate Nyx, but I think the thing that pisses me and a lot of other people off about her is how typical she is. She's a Mary Sue, plain and simple.

An "all-powerful yet misunderstood" young person with a "dark" and "edgy" backstory who everyone hates because of said backstory, and is always the center of attention. Then they go on some "dark" and "edgy" adventure with the series' main characters who eventually become best friends/fall in love with them.

All in all, nothing to get worked up about, there's billions of FCs just like her. The thing that really gets on my plums is how friggen' big she's gotten, she's honestly the most well known full-on FC in the fandom and she's not even that good a character. How come something that uncreative gets a free ride to internet-fame and internet-fortune when I can come up with something better in my sleep? D:<

But then, who am I to judge the tastes of the kind of people who would read a 300 chapter MLP fanfiction. I guess after that long you undergo stockholm syndrome. :P

So yeh, to make a long story short, I'm jelly, I'm jelly as buck.

i don't read a lot of fan fiction but i remember spideres, THAT was gold, it was a troll fic on purpose, kinda like a troll fic to make fun of troll fics.
