That picture Citation posted reminded me of something.
Queue rant that stems from resentment because I have to deal with douches all the time who think they are better than everyone else, It has nothing to do with ponies, just getting something off my chest, feel free to not read.
Hmm, I don't want to sound like a hater, but is it just me, or can P.O.Gs ( Personnel other than grunts) and weekend warriors be the biggest douches? I mean, they can be so full of themselves. I've realized that most guys in the infantry will never talk about their deployment or the fact they are in the military. Hell, my friend, who was fought in Fallujah in 2004, refuses to step out of the car if he is in his uniform. But, P.O.Gs ( at least the ones I know) go everywhere bragging about how they are in the military. They even go as far as to talk shit on me and my job( I work on my families ranch). Excuse me? I help feed the country. What do you do? collect money because on the weekend you train how to do a bullshit MOS? Its annoying. My "friend" in the navy reserve the other day called me out because Ive been taking BJJ for a couple years and did Kempo as a kid. He was going on about how he was trained in hand to hand combat by people who's job it is to protect the country. Can you say keylock hold in 30 seconds? I think years of classes trumps what they taught him in his 8 or so weeks in basic. His MOS isn't in combat, so why is he acting like he's Rambo?

Don't get me wrong. I know there are many many people who are in the military that are great people. People that understand that Joining the Military doesn't make you a badass, what you do( be it in the military or not) is what makes you a badass. but most of the kids I know just really get under my skin with their condescending attitude and I find it offensive to everyone who helps this country run, and all the military personal who have fought overseas and actually done something. whatever though, maybe someday they will mature.

Anyways, have some military ponies

Didn't White Diamond say she wasn't drawing pones anymore? :(

Not quite.

It seems like she just can't accept new commissions, and she won't be taking new ones any time soon. I think it's just a matter of her not having time to commit to fan art and make a living. If she had the time and was in a position to spend more time on the art, then it seems like she would. So I'd imagine that when she has an hour and she's up to it, then she'll probably get a little work done on one of the commissions.

@CitationNeeded
It's not what you asked for, but I always get a giggle when I think about a dude getting a Hydro Pump to the face for trying to Debo Fluttershy's taco.

Well, just got hit by a 8.9 degree Earthquake from Indonesia. Just some shakes in my condominium, the fans are swaying left and right for a minute and a half. I went outside and the crowd were already packed. Q&As are all around. It settled down finally, Not a pleasant experience, probably my first feel of it too. But we can't tell if the quake will come back harder or softer. Maybe some ponies will ease my mind a little.

Yeah, it does…

@Bruelock

First quake huh? Yea they can be unsettling at first, especially if your first encounter comes when you are older.

If you are exposed to quakes as a kid, you get used to quakes quickly and learn not to panic when bigger ones strike. Where I am I get quakes pretty frequently, usually just small jolts so whenever that happens I tend to ignore them.

But I remember one time when I lived with a Canadian guy who never experienced a quake in his life. His first experience happened right here. To me it was just another non-notable micro-tremor but for him…boy did it scare the ever loving shit out of him….he ran outside into open ground then started asking lots of questions about what to do. Took us a while to calm him down and assure him that it was just normal fare and not a huge concern. Poor dude.

@BSoD

Yeah, I guess you're right. Just got the latest news, the whole peninsular of Malaysia actually have the feel from the quake. They expect tsunami waves coming in 3 hours(which is already night time). I'm living in a condo with a very perfect sea view in front of me. This whole thing can be said that this is the first encounter my country have ever face.

Well, whatever nature has,

Sometimes, I really hate funnyjunk for their irritating link imaging systems.

FJ won't let you hotlink to their images. They seem to have an access rule in place that redirects direct calls to images back to their home page, at least once it figures out an external site is sending those calls anyway. The home page is not an image so you just get that little square.

That's the FJ way of not letting you share their hosted content on other sites.

I tried it myself, you will see the image at first after you post but only few moments later FJ will block it from being accessed directly.

I recommend that you get your macro's directly from KYM

I don't always like military ponies (Well I actually love them ALL THE TIME).
But when I do, I prefer Warhammer 40k ponies.

(And I love how they have the orks as hogs! It makes so much sense)!!

If you played SWAT 4 you would know that SWAT is a life saving organization that is decidedly less brutal than the military.

Now counter-terrorism troops like GSG-9……

SWAT's still bad-ass. They're just as highly trained, just in different fields of combat.

Oh, yeah. Yesterday I was playing TOR and for some reason I had to tell everybody I watched MLP on general chat. Shitstorm for a few minutes.

^Sums up the situation.

Funny thing about my town's SWAT unit…..
Despite being a town with about 10000 people, we've got one of the best equiped SWAT units in the state. Best quality armor, the works. Now, have some Trollestia:

Looks like we got a wedding crasher…..

SWAT teams aren't very brutal. Their modus operandi is to enforce the law and protect the people, not exterminate the opposition. I'd say that special forces in the Military are way more brutal than SWAT teams.

What was your ASFC if you don't mind me asking?

I was an Air Force ROTC cadet in Virginia Tech's Corps of Cadets program.

I resigned a year and half ago for psychological reasons. Even if I stayed in, I would still be forced to resign because of a medical condition I got diagnosed with that would make me unfit for duty.

Not technically a service member, but a participant in the military system nonetheless.

And no, I do not think I'm better because I was in the process of being an officer. Sometimes, the enlisted guys will be ten times smarter than their officers. Being a leader doesn't mean being the best. Being a leader means leading the best.

Well alright then. Anyway i thread got off track somewhere when Magic.mov came in so I CLAIM THIS THREAD IN THE NAME OF WOONA!

I concur. The entire point of the series is to disturb people, and I just don't find any entertainment in that. Although I don't like his art style, he does a pretty good job with the (disturbing) animations. Also, the voices are horrendously inaccurate (that's that point though).

For the whole Fluttershy is evil and everyone hates Spike, I much prefer Friendship is Witchcraft.

MEANWHILE, IN NEW JERSEY

Seriously, that's what it's like there all the time.

I grew up in NJ, and I can guarantee that statement is false in every way. Somehow I doubt you've even been there.

Anyways, I didn't like this one as much as the others. There's not much you can do to top SHED.mov though.

Twins said:

Twilight's voice is actually pretty close to the actual thing.

You're clearly missing the point. The rest of the mane cast… ugh.

I take it you weren't a fan of Ren and stimpy. I swear, it looks like John K. animated it. Also, I don't think the point of it is to disturb you. It seems just like every surreal stoner comedy on adult swim. Its just so absurd and different from the actual show that its funny, but its hardly disturbing.

Nope, I really never liked that show either.

And it is disturbing. It is done in a lighthearted manner, but it's still disturbing. The humour derives from its creepiness, and that's called black humour.

HotDiggedyDemon's got talent, and the .mov series is actually quite well done, it's just not very appealing to my tastes.

Whoa, 6 posts in 15 minutes? Maybe, just maybe…

No, it's derived from its absurdity. I just don't really don't get how people get disturbed by something so trivial. It's just a little black comedy, and no, black comedy doesn't have to be disturbing. It's just humor that makes light of taboo subjects. Duplex with Ben stiller and Drew Berrymore was a black comedy, but it was hardly disturbing. Same with beetle-juice.
I'm not saying that you can't find it disturbing. That's your opinion, but I don't think that the point of the video was to be so shocking and disturbing that you kind of have to laugh(e.g. Cupcakes or SAM). It's more like robot chicken, venture bros, or teen hunger force. Crude, violent, and sometimes juvenile humor and nothing more. If you want a truly disturbing black comedy, watch Fargo, American physcho, or dead alive. Though I'll admit I don't get disturbed easily, I'm sure people would find them quite unsettling. The woodchipper scene is pretty funny in Fargo, and dead alive is so revolting and utterly disgusting that's it's kinda funny.

Part of the absurdity comes from its disturbingness (making up words ftw). I'm not saying it's the most disturbing thing I've ever seen (Happy Tree Friends :\), but it is, at least on some level, disturbing. You can ask anyone if skinned animals with their organs hanging out singing songs is disturbing or not, and unless they're related to Insanity Wolf, they'll say, yes, it is disturbing.

I really don't like debating over matter of opinions, especially some as trivial as this. It's pointless, and gets us nowhere. Let's leave it at this- the .mov series is disturbing, at least to some extent, and while dac enjoys it, twins does not.

@twins
That's fine, but I wasnt debating your opinion of the series. I was just saying that the
humor isn't derived from disturbing people. I mean, the first two were just crude and vulgar

>implying crudeness and vulgarity cannot come from disturbingness

It's a combination of all three. More so on the vulgarity, but meh.

And I found magic.mov to be not really funny, but entertaining enough that I could watch it all the way through (for apple.mov I was like when will this end ugh).

It seems there are a lot of docter who fans amongst bronies. Who here watches that show? Also, what is your current favorite show? I ,for one, fucking Love Dexter. I mean, I can't imagine a better show. It's just that good. It's got a perfect blend of suppense, black humor, action, and creepyness. Why aren't there more brony Dexter fans?

@twins
Frankly, I don't find over eating apples or Mexicans in a sweatshop particularly disturbing. I suppose magic.mov and Shed.mov were somewhat morbid, but considering the games we play and the shows and movies that we watch, it's really nothing out of the ordinary.
