@That Episode 5 Synopsis
<div class=spoiler title="Hype!">

I was obviously already looking forward to Scootaloo's 'may or may not fly' episode, but the confirmation that Dash is going to be playing a significant role is the ultimate icing!

Apparently, Celestia and Luna are going to be hanging around at some point, too!
They'll probably just be there for the games, but a pony can dream…

Ha, now what, Tiara?

<div class=spoiler title="As for the leaked episode:">

Ah, I haven't seen it yet!
Must hide from the spoilers!

What?

You mean that gif is a spoiler for the episode?
Damn it!
I have failed!

I'll probably break down and watch it tomorrow, if only so I can roam my usual sites without worrying about it.
The real thing I dislike about these leaks is that they just make the wait for the next episode even longer (assuming that isn't leaked as well).
Oh well, pony is pony.

I’m significantly blunter about their messages.

Oh good, we got our backup for when Blue Screen's driven insane by Pony General VIII's naming. Congratulations, by the way. And good luck with handing Pony General IX's Thread Title Election.

@Leaked episode.
I thought it was pretty good. 7.3/10. Won't rewatch, but I never rewatch any episodes. It's also hilarious watching /mlp/ actually enjoy the episodes and see them realize their hope for the ride ending fade with each passing episode.

I'm fine with killing the polygamy discussion, even besides being asked to, we both seem to have different ideas of what "love" is or something like that because most of the last response was kinda perplexing me.
Lunar, if you actually WANT to discuss this further, then PM me, otherwise I'm just gonna leave it.

That poking thing seems cute/funny, might try that later.
I couldn't help but imagine them popping like a balloon after too much poking… That might be a little too goofy.
Also, is it just me or did my first Lyra picture from last page make it look like she was pulling a Twiface?

No seriously, that sounds adorable. I expect a first draft in my office by monday.

As the days go by, it gets harder and harder to not watch the leaked episode. Is this what my life has become? Learning to live with the demons that go by the name of spoilers?

Maybe you should invest in that new Pokèmon joint.

This is a really good time for me. I'm just below that point where there are too many timesinks, but I've got enough to occupy my time. So it's been pretty easy for me to stay away from spoilers.

Also, happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Amerifats.

Don't do it. It's a repetitive ride that never ends and is filled with horror and utter despair every time Oak talks as your reminded when TPCi kicked 4kids in the nuts and destroyed whatever soul the series had left.

Ahh, I love Thanksgiving or how it’s pronounced around the rest of the world: Thursday!

For you, the day turkey and stuffing filled your belly, and you crammed several pieces of chocolate pie into your mouth was the most gluttonous day of your life, but for me, it was Thursday.

It was an okay Thanksgiving. First one without my aunt (who died this past summer), who was always integral during the holidays, so it's a little more melancholy then it normally would be (my cousin couldn't come due to an emotional breakdown).

Frankly, that article needs tons of work more. Theres not much documentation on the fact that /mlp/ made pretty much the majority of all the sceptre content in just one evening of photoshopping purely because they thought it was funny (not the sceptre itself but just the fact they were making so much content for a random object that only appears for a flash). The way the article was worded, it sounds like the sceptre madness started on Derpibooru. But it’s the other way around. All the images on derpibooru came from two or more /mlp/ threads

Issue is, we need the evidence. Do you have some archived threads? If we can back it up with sources, sure, give /mlp/ what they deserve. But Chanarchive is dead, and Foolz doesn't cover /mlp/. We can't really use "because folks told us so" as a source.

Just passing by to say that this is where the archives are uploaded, and this is the thread that started it all.
Also this place ain't so bad.

Do you even /mlp/?

I guess I shouldn't be surprised at how dead the thread is, considering it was Thanksgiving and all. I wonder if Christmas will be the same?

That certainly helps. Thanks. I'll dig through it a bit and see if I can make the correct adjustments to the entry.

Since this episode was leaked so early, like many of others, I decided immediately to watch it, since I’m pretty sure, I would have went to a Brony site by the next few days, and accidentally spoiled it for me. Sorry for posting at the time the episode starts, because I won’t be back on till late tonight, but thankfully this episode was leaked, so I wouldn’t have to miss it.

The Plot: I love these kinds of episodes, any good TV cartoon show, has this sort of Episode in it, But the only one that I can pull out of the top of my head is “Ed, Edd, n’ Eddy.” (If you know any show with this cliché plot of people going to a supposedly haunted house, Let me know!) I don’t really need to dive into it too much because this doesn’t seem to have any twists that MLP usually does with these types of episodes. But I do like that, This place was like this, just for the Two Royal Sisters, to prank each other……That seems so weird, that they would be goofing off like that, making their old castle, like a Prank House. Instead of one group of people going in with one goal in mind (usually the, “One who stays in the longest in there, has the biggest balls out of all of them.”) We have three groups going in there, with different goals, and unaware by the other groups presence. And then finding out that someone was behind it all! Even when she totally didn’t even know she was doing it…….. And that concludes that there is no ghosts in that old castle……..Right?

The Comedy: The slap stick of the castle scaring them off was funny. Despite that some of those slap-stick of the castle traps making no sense that it didn’t clue them in that the castle was rigged, Like how Fluttershy didn’t hear the wall turn when she was stuck. Fluttershy’s mood swings are practically perfect to the timing. Pinkie being Pinkie (Seriously, Who would fucking do such a thing to their own fucking head!). And I guess that’s about it…….(Please to fucking god, no random ass thing that spreads like a fucking plague like that fucking scepter did.)

Animation: The detail to the Castle is brim with atmosphere, especially when we saw its former look last time (At least we have a reason to see that first flash-back then, eh?) The motions of the characters are fluent as usual. I wish there would be more the castle being too dark to see at all, Like have it only visible to the surrounding area of where one of them is. or when the lightning actually lights up the room for a brief second, giving something to catch us off guard.

Music: I usually don’t talk about the background music to much, The normal music cues that the show does are there, but when we get to hear that start to Organ play, That’s where I was wishing it to just take the normal music cues away, and just replace it completely with the Organ playing alittle bit. Maybe have it playing very silently, where you would have to listen to it very closely. Like have it play louder or softer, depending how far the group you are seeing on the screen, and the Organ itself.

Overall: This was just something that should have been aired when Halloween was around, seriously, this would have fit perfectly!!! Why couldn’t they release the premiere a month ago, so this would have come up relatively close to Halloween! But, since that was not the case, its just one of those episodes where, it will tell you something that many cartoons have done before, but give its own look on it. I’ll be giving this an 8/10. Since I’m a sucker for these types of episodes, it didn’t really add anything to the Box sub-plot (Except for the idea that, this place might have something about that Box.), but at least they brought a new element to the table in terms of ending a episode, having a journal……..Huh……..I wonder how that will contribute to later episodes……

Well I'm back from buying a shitload of games from Steam so I might as well give my thoughts on this new episode.

T'was alright. But then again, that's how I feel about all the 'Third' episodes of the season. The Ticket episode, Lesson Zero, Too Many Pinkie Pies, they're all just 'alright' episodes to me for some reason (though Lesson Zero was definitely the better episode). Yeah, this episode kept me smiling throughout with the Rainbow Dash/Applejack 'rivalry' (Something I desperately missed from this show), Rarity being Rarity, Twilight just reading casually while all of her friends are terrorized for the entire night. The "Pony in the Shadows" was a little predictable in the end and the episode as a whole just felt…..like it was there. Nothing that's "OMG I NEED TO WATCH THIS EPISODE AGAIN! 10/10!!!"

I DO however absolutely love seeing all the ponies playing a role in an episode again instead of just going "Nah, this is going to be just a Fluttershy and Rarity episode." I've been getting quite annoyed by the premises where they split up the ponies and just make an episode focus on only Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rarity (or any combination of 2 or 3 of the main characters). Hell, they were able to shine in the whole 6 characters in the same episode deal back in season 1 and only bad thing that happened with that was just Applejack being shoved into the background (Granted, she was the Boring Apple one). Man do I miss these kinds of episodes, I hope they keep this up throughout the season when the episodes start getting better (always happens at around episode 5-6).

I had already seen the new episode the same day a link was shared in this thread. I knew it was impossible to avoid spoilers at that point, and I realized that it wasn't really a spoiler, as it was just the entire episode and not sections of it that we can see as spoilers. Plus not to forget I can't watch these things live on tv.

That said, this was a funny episode. Hilarious moments, capturing all the ponies beatifully, not giving one too much dominance. Fluttershy and Angel really took the crown for me this episode though, while I'm normally not really a Flutterfan.

^Best scene.

Speaking of Fluttershy and Angel, best face in the whole goddamn episode:

It is so sad and crushing and perfect. It conveys exactly what Fluttershy must have felt like.
Studio B makes a good face.

@Randomman Oh, of course Randomman's favorite scenes are the ones with Angel. Surprise surprise, what's next is Kewln00b going to say that his favorite scenes were the ones with Rainbow Dash? Speaking of which I really liked the scenes involving Applejack and Rainbow Dash, always nice to see good ol' RD.

@Platus, it's funny because My Little Pony could take Flash and make pure gold.
Whereas this…..

takes flash and makes pure shit. Which is also sad considering one of these shows will probably go on forever, and it isn't FiM.

Just saw the new episode today without seeing spoilers beforehand. Yay! (I'm not bragging, I hardly ever go to pony websites anymore.)

SOooo good. One of the funniest episodes I've seen in a while. I hope the rest of the season is as good as this.

My favorite scenes were the ones with Vinyl. IF THERE WERE ANY.

Sorry for not being around the last couple of days…

I just recently regained consciousness…
(Got a 3DS and a bunch of games out of it though!)

Anyway…
@New Episode
Pretty much seemed like a filler episode (since nothing of much significance seemed to actually happen), but it was a fun ride nonetheless.
More Ashleigh Ball arguing with herself, more overly-dramatic Rarity, and Fluttershy's soul being broken.
As for best face, though…
Gotta give it to Rares:

@Kewl
Just in case you wanted a little more support for your 'third episode' thing, here's a tweet from the writer of Castle-Mania (bottom-to-top):

Seems the thirds are spawning thirds!

Also, for anyone who didn't make the connection:

That's basically what I was thinking through the whole episode.
Just lots of silly, characters-accidentally-scaring-each-other fun!

@Angel

As for that ending:
<div class=spoiler title="Future Spoilers Ahead!">

I'm also quite curious who this 'Pony of Shadows' might be, but I do have a hair-brained theory…

Yeah, Daring Do!
Hear me out: We know that next week's episode involves Dash meeting Daring Do is some fashion and we've just seen that they are really looking to push a stronger continuity on the episodes this time out, too.
This episode also seemed to really make a point of saying the word 'daring' quite a few times at both the beginning and the end, possibly hinting at a new contender in the most 'Daring' pony competition.
I think it would be a pretty funny misdirect to have the shadow pony be Daring Do coming by to explore the ancient castle for treasures and/or inspiration for her next book.
Maybe she thinks the main six are looters come to harvest the castle for personal gain.

Maybe I'm reaching quite a bit here.

Either way, just a silly theory that popped into my head at the end of this episode.
Only one way to find out if it will have any bearing in truth!
Onward to next week!

@Deadparrot222
Guess who's screencap just became the cover image for my episode review?

@Episode
I enjoyed it. Characterization was good and I particularly like the interweaving subplots of the Mane Six. The only downside was it was filler. Nothing really happened of importance--either in characterization or in plot. 7.5/10. Episode review should be up by tomorrow morning.

Also, I changed my avatar as part of a little thing that's going on on Fimfiction where you put a Santa hat on your avatar to celebrate Christmas. I never really realized how easily manipulatible my avatar was. Five minutes in Paint and you can do anything to it.

Platus wrote:

And in other news, this totally happened:

Yes, it's totally legit.

Best ship gets teased? Lord Xenu be praised! Is it weird that every time I see Rainbow Dash and Applejack get into their little feuds I instinctively say "Just fuck already!"…….Well, let's just hope that long after this show gets canceled they don't make "My Little Pony Adult Fun Party" on MTV.

Also, here's one of my personal favorites from the episode….too bad it's not animated since no one made a gif of this yet and I'm still practicing on how to make a decent gif.

God I wish this was animated

Just saw the episode now. Special thanks to Verbose for finding an alternate link for me

I had to go to bed when the episode was released. When I woke up 10 hours later, hasbro had already slammed the release with copyright infringement. Damn, they are getting more and more relentless.

While nothing especially outstanding happened, it still carried on the story from the last episode and I like how this is starting to fleece out as an ongoing plot that still has bits of slice-of-life elements in between. Character interaction is as cute as ever and everyone got a share of screen time. The more elaboration on Equestrian history is appreciated too.

I love that they intentionally added a scooby-doo throwback. I think the writers really know their audience now

adorable/10

I agree with this statement

Or it could be a completely different character they made up just now, either either.

Surprisingly, not the most suggestive tweet from the show staff within the past couple days:

Huh, guess she must not have known that was a Molestia picture. Could've sworn she made it clear at a convention that she doesn't really 'condone' the whole Molestia thing.

I thought it was a great episode, and I didn't see the ending coming either, since I assumed it'd be Zacora, since.. it's always Zacora. I loved the classic Scooby Doo themes, as someone who grew up on Scooby Doo, though I'm sad they didn't do the hallway thing.. I liked that this episode involved all the cast. The only thing that felt strange about the episode was Rarity, since she didn't seem to care much for Fluttershy or her safety, or her concern for Angel, it seemed very unlike her, though it seemed to be done for comical effect which I can understand.

My favorite moment without a doubt would be:

:

@Pony Gal

Ponies aren't Foxes, quit messing with my head!

:

@Castle Mane-ia
I liked this episode (especially after re-watching, after watching it for the first time at about 9 in the morning on a tiny device with a broken earphone. Not the ideal way to pony.)

It all came together well, the characters were all funny and it had some great little bits of slapstic that really caught me off guard. For instance, did anyone else notice the one part where Pinkie Pie skips past and you just hear her smack into a wall offscreen? Then NOBODY in the room reacts to it? I had to replay to make sure I saw that heard.

Also, is it a bad thing I genuinely didn't think it would be Pinkie? There was so many of the Mane cast already in the episode that I sorta forgot she wasn't there.

Anyway, onto older stuff I missed out on…

@Twilight's Scepter
This is so much better than gak… it's actually really funny. The face is just so stupidly happy looking that you can do anything with it and find humor.

One final thing I forgot to mention before… The new friendship journal that they're making looks like it's going to be the new way to deliver the moral at the end of the episode now that Twilight is no longer Celestia's student… though that really only stops HER from writing to Celestia… the others can still do it if they want. I hope Celestia isn't waiting for anything…

Stunthead said:

It's a great feeling, isn't it? After months upon months of hype, you finally get to a season premiere, and it does not disappoint. It's sorta like a strong start to a football season, except you don't really have to worry about the stadium bathrooms being vandalized.

@Nicole's Tweet: Whoa, whoa, whoa. First we get Hype Train acknowledging Appledash, and then we get Nicole acknowledging Molestia?! What is going on this season?

Whatever it is, I like it.

Guys… Guys. Guys.
They have Fluttershy at Build-a-Bear now! :D

It's just so cute! Ok, so maybe nobody cares about this as much as I do but my friend and I are super hyped and plan on going this weekend to get our very own Yellowquiet.

… Oh yeah and a new episode happened.
So, I just got around to watching this last night and I gotta say I am loving the vibes of this season. Having the mane 6 share the spotlight for an episode was very refreshing to me, I particularly loved the scenes with Rarity and Fluttershy. Ever since Green Isn't your Color I've been aching for more of them together.

I am very pleased to see that the animation is really stepping its game up, even on episodes that aren't particularly important. The faces everyone made throughout were hilarious, and everything felt like it flowed very smoothly. I also like the friendship journals idea. I like that it sort of ties in with the supposed history theme of this season and the idea of keeping a journal is always one of those things that I wish I did but I don't do. It's nice to have a replacement to the Celestia letters too rather than have the concept just fall off the face of the earth. I also like that this episode jumped right into searching for the keys instead of just forgetting about it for a few episodes, having an episode about it, and then forgetting about it for another few episodes, rinse and repeat until season end (cough kinda like the Gala). Even though this episode wasn't particularly important, I still enjoyed it.

She did acknowledge Molestia before, thing is this is what happened:

Sad that all I had to do was type "Brony asks…." then Youtube gives me the only suggestion as "Brony asks about Molestia" and then I have to get the video from 'The Cringe Channel' and before you say anything: No, we will NOT be having another Cringe Thread.
