I'm ashamed to admit I like the Kayne West "Stronger" way over the original "Harder Better Faster Stronger." I just think it's a better remix, and a not to shaby rap…

That doesn't mean I love Kayne, I really don't, nor do I hate Daft Punk. I just think he one thing right. Literally only one.

What Kanye brings to the table with "Stronger" is a remix that has swagger and confidence. He basically took a dance tune and turned it into power anthem. I still prefer the original, but I can't deny that what Kanye did with the song is impressive when you think about it.

I think that Black Ops is the best Call of Duty series of their modern entries… well, that might not be the same for the 3rd part but, y'know, it deserves a bronze star for trying.

BlOps 1 was just at the paranoid wank line to be enjoyable before it went even further off the rails and ruining the fun later in the series. It and MW1 are the only games I'd consider buying the remaster, if they're ever sold outside of a bundle.

OT – Bethesda games start out promising but always devolve into a soulless black paste. FO4 is the worst offender.

The best C&C game was Renegade

Fascism doesn't mean being violent towards someone.

Horseshoe theory is mainly thrown around by people who want to assert that the center of any given issue is inherently right and that the center just happens to be where ever they happen to sit. It's also an example of the Argument to moderation fallacy also frequently known as the "golden mean fallacy". In reality the far left and the far right have very little in common that isn't shared by positions in the middle but it sounds good if you don't think about it too much or if you don't know what you're talking about.

I can't stand leftists, and I think they are so far gone that trying to reason with them is like trying to reason with a dog: Both lack the intellectual capability to comprehend a viewpoint different from their own. There may have been a time when I had sympathy for these people. This sympathy waned as the election season went on, and I constantly saw Trump supporters getting attacked simply for liking Trump. Their attackers would justify their actions as preemptively putting down another Nazi uprising, and as such being heroes in their own minds. This is what really showed me that leftists are gone. They view themselves and their ideology, however idiotic or nonsensical it may be, as sacrosanct. By virtue of their thinking being so holy to them, it, and by extension they, are unassailable, and any person who attempts to go against them is immediately viewed as the enemy that needs to be struck down. As the world around them unfolds and they see that their ideology isn't the gospel they believed it to be, they lash out in anger to make it what they want it to be. At this point, nothing matters so long as they and their ideology wins. They resort to violence and intimidation and any other means necessary to get into power. Once they are in power, those who disagree or even question them are sent to reeducation camps or are simply murdered. This has happened before in human history. It happened with Communist Russia, it happened with Communist China, it happened with the Khmer Rouge and the Cambodian Genocide, and I'm seeing the beginning of it happen here in the US. Yuri Bezmenov warned of such a thing happening within the US, and now we're seeing the final stages of it.

Something needs to be done about them, because they will soon resort to terrorist attacks on anything they see as antithetical to their views, which at this point is anything white, conservative, or Christian.

Daily reminder that if you downvote people for having shitty opinions in an "Unpopular Opinions thread" you're doing it wrong.

Not if their opinion looks like a shitpost

I meant every word of what I said, though its good to find out that even the thread specifically meant to post opinions that people won't like is still somehow a hugbox.

Here's another opinion you won't like: I think Islam is incompatible with Western culture. Other world religions have been able to reform their views to be at least secular friendly. Islam, as of now, not so much. The closest Islam came to being secularized was during the founding of the nation of Turkey by Mustafa Kemal AtatĂĽrk. Unfortunately, despite even his efforts, it appears Islam there and all over the Middle East is becoming more fundamentalist and just diametrically opposed to western values.

This is why the refugee crisis is a crisis in the first place. The refugees are mostly Islamic, and the countries they're moving into are mostly western. That right there is a massive culture clash, and a recipe for disaster given how Muslims in the Middle East tend to react to such things like sexual freedom and homosexuality.

"I can’t stand leftists, and I think they are so far gone that trying to reason with them is like trying to reason with a dog"

That's less of an opinion and more you insulting half the country based on the actions of a minority, which is maybe why people downvoted you, the same way a comment calling all Trump supporters white supremacists would. Demonizing the entirety of the Right or the Left based off the actions of a minority of extremists tends to get downvotes, even in this thread.

Also, jokes on you, I actually agree with you regarding Islam being incompatible with Western Culture. I guess making assumptions about someone based on their perceived political standings doesn't work too well.

I'll even add to it. I think when Christianity is followed to the same degree that Islam is in the Middle East, it too is incompatible with Western Culture. The thing is, people in the west know what parts of the Bible they can't actually follow (like stoning your children for example) The Muslims that succeed in integrating into western cultures do the same.

Please cool it off. I never liked the idea of this thread in the first place but as long as it exists and you are willingly using it, there is an expectation that you will accept the presence of opinions you find disagreeable, maybe even abhorrent.

If you would like to discuss or debate opinions beyond a certain point, I politely request that you make it an affair for a separate thread or private messages.

I'm not actually sure if this opinion is unpopular, but I've rarely seen this expressed, so I might as well.

The worst XKCD comics are the ones that are either political or can be used in a political way. Especially 1357, which has seen massive overuse due to recent events.

On that note, so is Tokyo Mirage Sessions. Aka SMTxFE.

I like unironically the twintails hairstyle
I'm very interested in the new game of bombergirl
I liked the first episodes of RWBY
Dank memes and shitposting are becoming stale and lame to the point that will have the same fate as motivational posters, advice animals or rage comics
I like Titanfall and interested in Destiny
Some pages of Tumblr are not bad

I don't think Brendan Fraser is that entertaining of an actor and would like it if he continued to remain out of major films I want to see.

Is there some context to this I'm missing? Why would triangles not have three sides and three corners?

I think that was in response to Spherical's comment about Islam (as in he thinks its just stating the obvious)

When people say that they're usually just being lazy. Racist is shorter, more commonly understood than Islamaphobia and conveys a similar if inaccurate meaning. Some people on the other hand believe that a lot of anti Muslim sentiment comes from the same sort of tribalism as racism in general. Personally I don't think they should be conflated, but even the people who use the term "racism" too liberally know that Islam isn't a race.

Spike's story arc in Cowboy Bebop felt a little self important. I liked him better in episodes where Viscious wasn't involved.

Star Trek: Enterprise was a way better series than it gets credit for and it had the best 1st season of any Trek show outside of TOS.

The Phantom Menace was the best of the prequel series.

I don't believe in left/right politics anymore, people are just too disparate in opinions to be graphed on some one – or even two or more – dimensional plane. Any attempt to quantify beliefs are doomed to be full of flaws because each category you come up with (be it liberal, conservative, antifa, or what have you) will just be a crude proxy standing in for thousands if not millions of individuals who are highly unlikely to fit well together if you actually compared and contrasted them individually.

Okay I know this might not be that "unpopular" but I really hate how some people have such a jaded view on DLC and expansions nowadays. Okay I get it, some companies in the past have handled DLC poorly or in shady ways, but acting like literally every single company that does DLC is evil is just stupid, and yes as you might expect what's brought this on is the fact Nintendo announced they're gonna be putting out some post launch DLC for Breath of the Wild. At the very least if you're someone who hates DLC IN GENERAL that much then let me ask: why are still gaming nowadays? Literally every damn big name company does DLC.

While I agree that DLC isn't inherently evil. I must point out that Some (not all) indie games and indie devs don't use DLC (see: Undertale, Terraria, Minecraft[?]) at least not in the typical sense (the last two does have Mods which are a similar concept, but croudsourced.) While Pokémon's main games favor a "limited edition but free" approach (though I think some of the Spinoffs do have DLC).

I strongly feel that Fallout 4 needed more time in the oven. It didn't feel as focused and grounded as Skyrim and Fallout 3. In my eyes, BGS absolutely knew what they were doing with those two and put a massive amount of effort into them. Fallout 4 just feels like a bunch of ideas they came up with as they were working and crammed them into sandbox. Either they are getting lazier or creative differences are starting to hurt the development of their games.

I think that people take this site way too fucking seriously and treat it like it should be some political documentation-fest. It's not Don's fault that he has to frontpage this shit, it's YOURS for clicking on it and arguing in the comments.

I never really liked Mickey Mouse or his gang, even as a kid. I felt they and Disney as a whole were overrated. Pixar movies are the closest to a Disney film I can enjoy (and even then I preferred the alternatives like Blue Sky Studios and Dreamworks – Toy Story 1 & 2 were the ONLY ones I actually watched). When I got older I wanted to give Disney a try after how glorified they were made, only to find out they manipulate the legal system to keep Mickey Mouse from Public Domain. That shit made me lose respect for them.

I feel like such a hipster for growing-up with Bugs Bunny and Felix.

- I found people who need happy ending for every story on any media annoying when happy endings doesn't even fit in the context of the story.

- Having a complex story doesn't make automatically good sometimes can be terrible instead giving a straight awnser.

I'm actually not very fond of games/other media that run at incredibly high framerates. It may just be because of my own flawed perception, but I find it somewhat unnatural because beyond a certain point, things move with a level of smoothness that isn't possible in real life.

im really not on board for the switch and feel crazy cause people are giving a pass to things they have been yelling at Nintendo for years. there is the launch that has very few games manly only zelda, 1-2 switch and bomberman. there has been a lot of stock issue where its almost impossible to get one and seems to have a lot of controller gimmicks. i feel like im in the twilight zone and everyone has 180ed on Nintendo just because the new zelda looks cool and doesnt have a stupid name

…The new Zelda HAS a name, it's called The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

I fucking hate Rick and Morty. Literally everything about it, except for maybe the theme song, is terrible. The art is terrible, the writing is terrible, the plots are terrible, the characters are terrible, the voice acting is (deliberately) awkward and poorly directed, and the fucking fandom that insists Rick is the the most powerful character in all of fiction because "HURR HE OUTSMARTED THE DEVIL" is terrible.

But the worst part has to be how close it is to not being terrible. It's frustrating how often Rick and Morty comes this close to having a genuinely funny or profound moment when the writers suddenly decide "Hey, you know what this scene needs? More gore and pretentious nihilistic ramblings!" and fuck everything up. Rick and Morty is 99% terrible, and that actually makes it worse than if it were a 100% terrible shitshow, since I can never stop seeing the not-terrible show it could have been.

I always get the feeling the show was made to pander to the edgelords sometimes.

Even if I agree Metal Gear Survive is hard to defend, I will say I get WHY Konami thought this spin-off would be a good idea in the first place, as frankly Kojima got the ball rolling with MGSV, and yeah I gotta admit Kojima was being a bit a hypocrite with his "what do zombies have to do with Metal Gear?" comment.

For those that don't know, MGSV technically has zombies in the form of parasite infected soldiers who look and behave exactly like zombies in other works of fiction. Here's a pic of them:

So really if Kojima was fine with putting zombies in one of his own games I can at least see why other people in Konami thought a zombie spin-off would be fine.

So has your primal rage at the existence of Family Guy subsided to make room for Rick and Morty or have you expanded your capacities to maintain both vexations simultaneously?

I've actually always thought family guy was better tbh [SCARE CHORD]

Like, one thing I will admit about FB is that it occasionally tells an actually funny joke or does at least something right, even though 90% of it is shit. Rick and Morty is actually worse in that department.

It's fine if you like BoW and bought a Switch for it. It's being reviewed at killer-app levels of good

It's fine if you like Horizon with its flaws. Everything has flaws but new IP and effort are nice

It's fine if you aren't interested in either or don't like them after playing

It's fine if you're interested but don't feel they're worth a hardware investment to play.

Put down the pitchforks before you ruin Q1 2017 in gaming. It's been super great.
