I didn't know that. I guess I missed that post. I knew Madmax was, but not Megasweet.

As for me, I could care less about an artist's gender unless somebody discussed about them.

And now that somebody discussed about them, I know that Egophiliac is a girl. (Ego-"filly"-ac is the ponifiied version of her according to her DA front page, and we know that filly is female.)

To be honest I didn't not know any of them… at all..I think I did hear something about Madmax at some point but other then that no. :/ (good guy Greg he types out all the words instead of abbreviate them)

So, we were talking about different MLP artists' genders, right?

I guess so. You're right in that the artist's gender doesn't matter on the whole.

However, it does come as a bit of a surprise, given the content on some of Megasweet's art. That isn't to say women can't or aren't supposed to make Rule 34, but I was still caught off guard. Also, because I'm still not sure if there are actually that many female Bronies (i.e., women that came to like the series and participate in the fandom in Generation 4 and not before.)

I'm not really sure much can be made of it.

My sister (she's 19, I'm 17) is the person who introduced me to the show in the first place, and she had no interest in the franchise before FiM.

Since she's away at college, we've decided to hold very in-depth analytical discussions of each new episode on Facebook after they premiere. I've come to hold no shame in my obsession and I don't care who of my friends knows about it anymore.

I like to call that personal growth.

Hey bronies, I'm back! I really should start announcing my absences instead of just taking off for days at a time like I have been.
Despite my usual hatred of spoilers, I just read the synopsis of episode 3 on EqD. What struck me as odd was that I've read a fanfic with the exact same premise (It's called Writer's Block, if you're interested).
What do you guys think of this? Do you think the writers might be drawing inspiration from the fandom, or are the similarities just a coincidence?

Don't tell any spoilers; I think it is a coincidence at this point (the episode might have been planned and made before the fic even), but if they keep doing things with close similarities to fan works than it might be true. It's like getting hundreds of other writers for free without copyrights.

fetish |ˈfeti sh |
noun
an inanimate object worshiped for its supposed magical powers or because it is considered to be inhabited by a spirit.
• a course of action to which one has an excessive and irrational commitment : he had a fetish for writing more opinions each year than any other justice.
• a form of sexual desire in which gratification is linked to an abnormal degree to a particular object, item of clothing, part of the body, etc. : Victorian men developed fetishes focusing on feet, shoes, and boots.

Yeah, most likely a coincidence. This was probably going to happen sooner or later, given the output rate of fan-work.

The more fanfics you have, the better chance there is of similar ideas popping up in the show.

Awesome fan art you say? BAM

Scratch has to be one of my all-time favourite ponies. One of those stupid videos on YouTube where they loop Scratch headbanging was my introduction to electronic music, and it's been slowly taking over my iTunes library ever since. I'm listening to Deadmau5 right now, and I have this fandom to thank for that.

That and the fact the universe tends to repeat itself in patterns in history and matter. The universe is connected some way some how. That and ofcourse the six sense we all have (yes it's real its been proven by science its a episode called "Sixth sense" i think on a series called "Through the wormhole with Morgan Freeman").
