I have some stuff to say about art (Hell, I've even commissioned some Pony pictures!) but I don't have a lot of time to post now, so might I leave you all with a highly detailed painting-style picture based off a meme?

Try adding more fluff to the tail and mane. Those parts look a little stiff, maybe that's why you arent happy with it

Two suggestions:
I think the main area you want to focus on is proportions.
Check out some other pointy ponies art and see how you can use their techniques to improve your own.

For yours, I'd mainly suggest shortening the body and increasing the head size by a good bit.

Second, you might try using Inkscape for your ponies over GIMP.
It's completely free like GIMP, but it works in vectors instead of rasters so anything you make can be infinitely resized without getting all those jagged edges.
Pretty easy to use, as well, especially for relatively simple things like pointy ponies.

Finally, if we are talking about really good pony art, I think White Diamonds should get a shout out:



Not only is her work highly detailed and insanely cute, but she's been churning it out at an unbelievable pace.
She's running RariJack Daily where she has been posting something (I believe) literally every single day for a couple months now.
And it is all this cute!

Second, you might try using Inkscape for your ponies over GIMP.

An interesting note that dredges up an old joke I made a long time ago about all the Ponies being Ninjas… It turns out that the elements of Harmony, or perhaps just their bearers, also correspond with the virtues of the Bushido.

Side Note: Why is Rarity under benevolence and Fluttershy under respect? In theory its because one possible reading of the word for benevolence is "charity"; and though it could also be kindness, Fluttershy's form of kindness is more in line with giving respect to all things.

Apologies for the double post, but I just wanted to give an update for my most recent "Blue Yoshi's MLP fanfic reading adventure." Why? Because I find a couple hilarious series to follow on FimFiction. So here is the update:

Looks like I'm gonna be in for a huge ride this month. I've decided to follow four Alternate Universe fanfics, each with their own unique (and hilarious) twist. The fanfics are:

The story is a re-write of each of the episodes of the MLP: FiM seasons, with each of the characters using common sense, magic, or anything to solve a problem presented in the episode very quickly.

Reason for following:

My Little Pony: Friendship is Overpowered (Season 1), along with the two comic series I follow ("Friendship is Magic" by Mauroz, "Moody Mark Crusaders" by Slitherpon), are the reasons why I have decided to read and follow AU stories on FimFiction. I'm really looking forward to see how this series goes.

Reason for following:
I like reading weird stories time to time.

Reason for following:
Blame my boredom and curiosity for following another "human turned pony" fanfic. I wanted to find another interesting story to read, so I decided to follow "Stroke of a Digital Brush" after reading the description of the fanfic and its back story. Needless to say, the story seems pretty interesting so far. <a href = "http://www.fimfiction.net/group/205029/oc-tales">The story's also part of a small fanfic universe created by the guy who created the back story of the fanfic universe.

<a href = "http://www.fimfiction.net/story/221417/maud-pie-becomes-an-alicorn-princess">Maud Pie Becomes an Alicorn Princess- Maud visits Twilight's library to look for a book while Twilight's friends are outside celebrating with Twilight after Twilight has become an alicorn. She sees a paper containing the spell created by Starswirl the Bearded that Twilight fixed. Maud decides to fix the grammar of the spell's name. Cue the alicornification process involving Celestia's abruptly shortened song sequence and a flashy exit.

Maud now has to deal with her new duties as an alicorn princess and needs to learn to adjust her new life and assume her role as the fifth alicorn princess in Equestria.

Reason for following:
"Maud Pie Becomes An Alicorn Princess" has garnered my attention after I read the description and the first two chapters of the fanfic. I was in stitches after reading those first two chapters and have decided to follow the story to see where it goes.

I am also going to follow <a href = "http://www.fimfiction.net/story/220615/twilight-manages-to-screw-up-more-than-usual">"Twilight Manages to Screw Up More Than Usual" in the future, but after I get a long list of one-shot fanfics in my queue out of the way.

10 of those stories are between 1000-2000 words long. 5 of them are between 2000-5000 words long. 2 of them are between 5000-10,000 words long. And one of them is between 10,000-15,000 words long.

I fav all of the stories that I have read or will continue to read. This does not include stories that I have given up on reading or stories that I have only partially read. That means "The Unexpected Love Life of Dusk Shine" is not be on the list, since I have only read the first chapter of the story.

I'm pretty stingy in word count; I don't like reading long stories, because they take up too much of my time. I only read long stories if they are really interesting. The shortest story I have read in the list is "The Greatest Equine Who Has Ever Lived", which is 350 words long (and written by none other than Sethisto). The longest story I have read is "Know Your Mare", which is 67,448 words long.

Out of the 102 stories I have read, 68 of them are less than 3000 words, and 12 of them are between 3000-5000 words. Only 10 of stories in the fav'd list have more than 10,000 words in them.

Have any of you guys ordered those new Luna and Celestia vinyl Funko model from Hot Topic?
I pre-ordered mine over a month ago and they were supposed to ship 3 weeks ago and still haven't received them. I got the non-pre-ordered part of my shipment just fine though.
I saw a post on EqD about the orders being delayed, but this is ridiculous.

if it's delayed, don't say ridiculous, I know this aswell, and I waited 2 months for a stuff to arrive, while they said it will be only 2 weeks, they said, they also said there could be a delay, well, there was.

Well, I'm off from Uni for the Christmas break! So I'll probably be able to be more properly active here.
And speaking of that, since I came home by train I had a chance to watch another episode! Planned to do more but only got one done in the end

welp i have returned to kym after being dead. and i had no idea there was a forum on here. i left like a year ago and i came back because someone commented on how i got soo many downvotes, because to be real here, some of the things i posted just make me wanna facepalm soo hard. so whats goin on in this pony forum. (i think i might have gotten a little of topic there but :P) but on another note, S5 is taking forever. this has been the worst hiatus since S4. it just keeps on getting longer and longer, but then again that usually means that its gonna be awesome, but then again when has mlp not been awesome?

Welcome back! We've been discussing random pony-related stuff during the loooooooooooong hiatus.

As for me, I've been watching videos on Youtube (mostly video game stuff, though) and looking at pony-related content on various websites. Lately, I've decided to read a bunch of MLP fanfics on FimFiction. Many of the stories are one-shots and no more than 3000 words. I don't follow long stories on the website unless they are relevant to my interests. The stories I usually read are one or more of the following:

-Funny
-Crazy
-Silly
-Cute and adorable
-Interesting

My favorite topics on MLP fanfics are Comedy, Random, and Slice of Life.

Oh hey, i remember you, welcome back again. I think it's ok to do some stupid things you later regret because you can learn from your mistakes, i did a lot of them in my life and regret only a few.

Long hiatus is long, but i keep myself busy with lots of fanart and videos. This fandom produces more content than i can look at in a day so i keep accumulating links in a big .txt file, i can't even keep up with Equestria Daily anymore, i'm still reading news from the last month.

Once I get all of those one-shot stories out of the way, I am soooooooooooooooooo gonna re-read the story and start following the story! (I only read the first chapter of the story, though) And no! I don't care if the story is 50,000+ words long! I'm going to read, follow, and enjoy the BEST HUMAN IN EQUESTRIA FANFIC EVER!!!!!!!!!!

and also when i left here it was mainly because of the massively terrible reputation i was receiving over my terrible meme posts and such, and i had no clue how to use this thing but now i think i know a little bit more about it :P. when i left here (which was actually the place that got me started into this fandom) i went to minecraft, of course. from there i joined the pony mc server and did a lot on there and even joined in on their general skype group. and thus were i stand right now (after about 2 years)

welp as for me i am more of one of those weird ponies who enjoys a good dark or scary tale or something good or funny that does not have to do with r34 in the means of fanfics. i dont really read fanfics all that often though. i have been mostly trying to get better at composing electronic music, drawing and minecraft. that game is too much fun.
