Oh, man. <a href = "http://www.fimfiction.net/user/Akumokagetsu">This author's a comic genius. I reserved one of his stories to read for my "50th MLP fanfic read anniversary", and it was a hilarious one. The fanfic's called <a href = "http://www.fimfiction.net/story/158264/twilight-is-doomed">"Twilight is Doomed", which is about Twilight Sparkle engaging in an epic battle against a double-sided sticky duct tape. I was smiling and laughing the whole way through, just like the time I was reading a fanfic about Celestia and Luna engaging in an epic pillow fight.

Yay! I've been waiting too long to avoid double posting!

This time… Something I'm really not too good at and could really use help on.

The fact its also making out, and at a 3/4 angle made it harder; since for some reason nobody uses 3/4 view for kissing even though I think it looks better, which meant it took too long to find a reference so I had to wing it.

Also… I made one other sketch before this one (also earlier chronologically) So I'll spoiler tag it.

P.S. I am not sure if I should be surprised those two are going the "we're going to die! Let's make out!" route or not.

Of course… Not all of the sketches contain Ponies, two contain snakes only and one contains a pan away shot of the snakes in a fogged up Colosseum. So I'll just show what little pony remains.

Note: I actually made some minor changes to Panel 3, the one with the kissing; beyond just drawing the rest of it. Namely that I realized the space between the two was weird, and that "limbs don't bend that way".

Note: I don't know why I'm showing off Panel 6… It's basically just a head… But I kinda felt like showing it off… Perhaps because its… Cleaner than I usually find my sketches? Also I messed around with hair… Because apparently I like messing with hair now.

Welp… Now I need to prepare for a college assessment. Namely program scripting basics. Which could take up a couple of days.

However, if it dragged for too long, then the jokes would've gotten stale. I'm glad to see it end on a funny and high note, though. This is the first story with 1000+ upvotes that the author has received on the site, and I think it has allowed him to gain some popularity on FimFiction. I wish him the best of luck in his future works.

Anyway, regarding the fan stuff I haven't read any fanfics though I've looked at plenty of fanart, even commissioned some (all crossovers admittedly), not totally sure what I'd be able to contribute to this particular topic.

Hmm, I've been looking at some of the fanfics list, and so far, I'm unsure of what I should choose from. The list is:

-The Unexpected Love Life of Dusk Shine (I only read the first chapter of the fanfic, and I'm unsure if I should continue reading it)
-Progress
-Sweetie's Mansion (apparently, the author of the fanfic updated it last month)
-Project: Sunflower
-Battle of the Blanks

Also, I've watched Rainbow Rocks about 4 times this week and listened to the soundtrack about an additional 2-3 times. Fanfics huh?

Well, I'm not quite a reader, but the only story I've ever read from start to finish is Freeze Frame, and currently catching up to Starlight Over Detrot.

I'm always a fan of sci-fi or universe-expanding stories, just to see how Equestria can grow into. I want to write one, and I've completely thought out how the story goes, but I'm too ashamed to share with anybody.

So, now that we're talking about fanfics, I guess I could share my experience about it.

I'll be honest, I've only read ONE fanfic since I discovered the show back in 2011. It was a crossover; it involved SAW and the painful ascension of Trixie to become Jigsaw's protégé. Where is it now? I don't know, I cannot even remember who wrote it. It was an old user from Gametrailers, that's for sure.

However, I found one that has caught my attention, ever since I watched nearly all episodes of G1 last year. It's called Remember When… by Draconian Soul which is a story focused on Spike and Scorpan.

I haven't had the time to read it, but I will. Just by the synopsis itself, it looks promising.

I didn't know there was a "Mystery Science Theater 3000" of the MLP fanfics. <a href = "http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/FanFic/Ponyriffs">I found the TVTropes for the page here, which will link you to the various riffs that the community (some of them by Ponychan) has done on various MLP fanfics. Be careful, however, since the riffs are NSFW due to the contents in the fanfic (like "Cupcakes" and "Rainbow Factory"), or may have vulgar commentaries in the.

"My Little Marriage" is incomplete, but I want to see how the story is like anyway.

I'm still planning on reading "Sunny Skies All Day Long" and "Celestia vs. Cleverbot" in the future. And then I'll probably read "Project: Sunflower" and/or "Progress" after a short break.

Maybe this is a bit off-topic, but I'm making a fanfic about Fleur being awesome. In the fic she's a secret bodyguard of Fancy Pants and they're at a party. Long story short, Fleur ended up fighting a changeling who tried to poison Fancy Pants, this happen in a room away from the crowd and the changeling managed to strike down Fleur.

Now here's the problem, should I put a deus ex machina in that Celestia teleports in and saves Fleur? Would that be a bit too plot convinient and would it make Fleur less badass? Because the other option would be Fleur suddenly get up and take down the changeling which imo pretty boring.

Just to make the appearance of Celly more plausible, Luna was at the party earlier but took a bit of the poison and caused a ruckus, so Celly goes to the party to investigate. So what do you guys think?

Instead of Fleur just getting up, she should do something cool/clever to stop the changeling without directly fighting it. Maybe she uses her magic to set off the fire alarm and then sneaks Fancy out in the crowd? Maybe she smacks the changeling with a magic beam just as it enters the main room, disrupting the disguise and causing everyone to attack it? Maybe Fancy is actually in a safe house, and the guy at the party is his equally badass body double?

See – there are a lot of cool ways to resolve the conflict.

Yep, had to do some revision during the story so the original script is no-go, however the end will remain the same. I wanted to put Celly in without making it plot convinient.

I used to read a lot of fanfiction. I stopped when I realised I don't much like fanfiction.

That said, I have been working (far too much) on giving that old zombie RP I did with some of the people here a fresh coat of not suck. Plus I'm hopefully going to do another pony related writing collab with one or two people here as soon as we all find the time. PLUS I had an idea for my own Screwball fanfiction that I've been meaning to start.

For someone who doesn't read fanfiction, I certainly do a lot of fanfiction related stuff.

Progress is good, but it's too long. The humor starts to wear thin once the "Luna has trouble with modern technology" angle starts to fade.

How so? Because there's many ways this could be played (she's faking to lure the changeling into a false sense of security, etc.). You could also simply rewrite the entire fight scene to avoid having the changeling win.

For instance, IRL folklore has changelings being extremely weak against iron. During the fight, you could have Fleur use an iron implement (maybe a nearby fire poker or candlestick) or knock the changeling into something iron that would then turn the tables in Fleur's favor.

Honestly, if a diarch was just poisoned at a party, I'm pretty sure most of the armed forces would be showing up to investigate what happened instead of the other diarch (who could be walking into an assassin's waiting hooves).

Unless it's being written off as Luna just having an upset stomach or something, in which case, why would Celestia go and investigate an upset tummy?

I'd advise against using Celestia at all as there isn't really a non-contrived way for her to intervene.

As for resolving the fight, I'd definitely avoid and Deus ex Princess stuff if at all possible.
They are just too easy of a crutch to fall back on and they haven't really had much play in the story so far so Celestia just showing up would be jarring.

Without knowing where you are planning to go, I think it might be cool to have Fancy Pants involved somehow. The first few pages obviously played up their importance to one another, Fleur dropped some pretty big hints about the champagne before walking out, and Fancy Pants isn't dumb so I assume he knows she took off for a reason. Perhaps he is worried when she doesn't immediately return and he goes in to the back to check on her and stumbles across the battle. Quite a few different ways you could take it from there depending on how you want to portray Fancy's character in this (Is he cowardly? Does he try to step in and fight? Does he use diplomacy? etc.), but having him distract the changeling long enough for Fleur to get up and do her thing could be a good way out of the current situation while simultaneously expanding on their relationship.

Whatever you do, keep up the awesome art!
