But then, all varieties of Shy are cute.
Well, if anyone's still interested, finally got around to watching some more episodes! Yeah, I know, probably should've finished it all up in the last thread…
Well, if I might start with my conclusion, it was kind of a bland episode for me. Not really bad, but it didn't hold my interest particularly hard or really "grab" me.
Though admittedly I only had a couple of real complaints. First is quite general, hard to really elaborate but the main plot with Spike's jealously. Not really any big faults I can point to regarding that but it felt kind of "off" and hollow.
Also the talk at the end with Twilight saying she got Owlowiscious to help at night specifically seemed odd. They had the right setup with Spike falling asleep and such, and Owlowiscious both entering the narrative and first helping Twi at night, but afterwards he was specifically helping out at daytime. Kind of eyebrow-raising.
I also had a couple of other little observations that I noticed, but which didn't really affect anything: As odd as it might seem, I was kind of shocked/surprised with the mouse scene and the "ketchup for blood" trope, simply because I'm surprised the bigwigs didn't cut it out for having a reference to blood in a cartoon aimed at such a young audience. Also it's probably just me being surrounded by shipping for so long but all the talk about Twilight "loving" Spike made me think of… Yep…
First off, I think this one really suffered from spoilers and such, probably would've made a lot more impact if I hadn't heard all about it in advance, not that I can really complain about that of course.
Next, despite all the talk about Pinkie's breakdown and "Pinkamena", I was really surprised by how little of the episode it takes up time-wise. I was expecting that to be the entire latter half of the episode or something from all I heard about it.
But all that said, this was really a solid one. Fairly entertaining overall and I find it worth mentioning that Pinkie didn't get on my nerves at all in this episode. I guess it's because she was in-focus so they could round her out into something that didn't piss me off. Considering how I liked her in Griffon The Brush-off, I guess that's the key to her success for me.
Hmmm, seemingly the only season finale that ISN'T going for the "SUPER MEGA EPIC" angle, this'll provide some interesting contrast once I've watched later seasons.
And for fuck's sake, they're having Ponies pulling their own carriages again?! It still gives me the creeps… I'd like to remind you that it's basically like people pulling carts and such in our world… The mice-turned-horses would've been fine (non-sapient horses would be like monkeys or such are to us) but I still can't help but think "Get something with a fucking engine!".
I know it's a weird thing to pick up on but the guitar riffs in Rainbow's section of "At The Gala" is a nice touch.
Speaking of weird things to pick up on, Prince Blueblood's debut made me think… I'm not the only one bothered by the Princes not being Alicorns, right? Maybe I'll talk about this more when Shining Armor shows up.
Oh yeah, and the origin of a fan-favorite background character!
And a meme!
Oh yeah, and the Pony Pokey ain't got shit on this:
All in all, a pretty solid episode but I find it kind of odd that the season finale is basically just an ordinary episode, rather than any huge or epic adventure stuff… Given the plot, maybe some meta subtext there?
As always, feel free to ask me or anything.
Well there we go, now I'm done with Season 1! …Odd thing to sound proud of, but whatever!
Now I'll just have to get around to S2 soon, I know who's waiting for me…
Also, thanksgiving?
Might post more tomorrow.
My family's Thanksgiving lunch was quite a treat. We invited our sister and her boyfriend over to our house, who loves seafood. We had crab, fish, chicken, ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, and fruit for Thanksgiving.
Continuation from my previous post (because I forgot to post ponies again).

Happy Turkey Day for all those who celebrate it.
To me though, happy Friday. Woo~
As far as being a good match for any pony, might I ask for your reasoning?
I was unable to put it into words then and am still unable to put it into words now… So just take it as my gut feeling.
… One thing I can put into words is that any chemistry Luna (and by extension Celestia) has with others in a romantic sense seems limited solely by her open-ness to romance itself.
That said… As you and others put it, in canon they're probably not that romantically charged. And its for that reason the line between fanon Luna and canon Luna becomes slightly easier to explain… Barely.
Fanon Luna would be likely to actually DATE someone… Canon Luna on the other hand is more likely to keep it strictly platonic as a mater of responsibility. That part's… Not quite as difficult to put into words… But I keep wanting to say its cause fanon Luna FEELS younger. If that makes sense.
In that weird sense… Fanon Luna is the romantic wild card in more ways than one… In that while I could see her being in a relationship with any-pony, I don't see her being in a very strong relationship with any partners.
It's in this sense that I say she's a "good match", in that while there is almost no situation where she could be considered somepony's "best match", she remains a viable match anyways.
I hope that makes sense.
There's that awkward moment when I realize that I only ever seem to be romantically attracted to "wild cards". For reasons that I can explain easily but sounds depressing as hell.
…Because I have no sense of self.
@DeadParrot:
I luv this deal. This is the BEST deal ever. I only had like the first 9 of the main series, and first 6 of the micro. So glad I could get this. I still plan to own physical copies, but this will keep me caught up for now. I really didn't want to read the illegal copies online just to stay caught up. Anyways, thanks again for the heads up DP!
(Oh, and the epub files are just over 2 GB in size to download them all if you were wondering. I'm uploading them to google books so I have them backed up FOREVER!) xD
(Edit: Turns out the size limit for google books is 100MB/file so the 2 animated series comics have to be uploaded as PDFs. Bummer.)
And happy late thanksgiving all!
BURN! BURN! BURN!
@The Cute Master
Not many opportunities out there where you can get 11 times what you pay for!
Glad you were able to grab them!
(I think creating an account with the Humble Bundle site lets you save all of your download links so you shouldn't need to worry about uploading them elsewhere. Unless you want even more backups, of course.)
How about some other cool stuff?
What if MLP had an insanely happy, anime-style opening song?
It might be a little something like this:
The sound mixing could probably use a little more work, but overall this is one peppy number!
Pretty solid voice matching and animation as well.
And from the world of video games:
That's some cool animation so far and I think we've all wanted control of the 'Tirek Beam' ever since the finale.
This'll be one to keep an eye on!
It's 2 am and I'm posting ponies again rather than sleeping…
Oh well, who needs sleep?
That MLP game looks freaking amazing. I can't wait to see it how it goes.

Hopefully not straight into the business end of a C&D…
Wait. <a href = "http://www.fimfiction.net/story/9/the-greatest-equine-who-has-ever-lived">Seth actually wrote the first story on FimFiction?! Yeah, it may not be the very story on the website, but it is known to be the oldest surviving story on the website. The other stories, I believe, have been deleted by their authors or lost due to the author closing their accounts.

I'd actually play FNaF2: MLP edition.
To see if it's still scary.

It was pretty interesting. The ending was pretty funny and had implied Twixie moment. The fic's super short and incomplete, but I got a small laughter out of it. I loved the comments section in the fanfic as well.
After reading the story, I now know that Seth supports the Twixie shipping.
Well… I finally managed to post that update for Sburb Ponies
I warn you all… It involves Kissing, Partial Deus Ex Machina, Selfcest, Cross Temporal Shenanigans, Bat Ponies, Stylized Violence, Cosplay, Butchered Pop References as Author Commentary, and Giant Exploding Snakes.
No sex though.
In the end even the stuff drawn ages ago turned out okay after a quick touch up… The only panel I'm embarrassed by is something that is covered in so many tacky looking obligatory "loot drops" that you'd hardly notice.
Why not just partial Deus Ex?
That would be spoiling.
But yeah, that sounds vaguely similar to stuff that happens later.
Not that I think the one in question would ever say the infamous line of "I didn't ask for this."
… Because they totally did ask to not die, and to be an awesome cyborg.
Jensen's costume would look better on a different pony to the one in question anyways.
So I finally got to reading up on the Friends Forever comic series and I found out what happened to Season 5…
That comic was pretty great. Actually the series has been great as a whole. I regret nothing in making the impulse decision to buy the comics! lol.
(Also, I'm considering making this my next profile pic. What a face! xD)
Well, I was on the train again so I started Season 2!
Watched Lesson Zero first because of time issues and not feeling up to a big epic episode at that moment. I also planned to watch Luna Eclipsed but didn't have the time to do it.
Title drop 18 seconds in, followed by another couple later on? They do that a lot more than one would expect going into this show.
"Draconequus" is pronounced WAAAAAY differently than I expected…
Also, Discord was "unhatched" by schoolkids fighting? Okay, why didn't that happen long before this episode? Or was the spell wearing out? In any case, Scoots seemed to easily have the right answer for what Discord represents, he's definitely Chaos (he himself says so later on).
That door Celestia opened with the element box made me crack up, just because I remembered this:
So Discord gets rid of their wings and horns? What about the Earth Pony race abilities? Then again, those aren't exactly elaborated on a lot (in fact, I formed my own headcanon about those).
Oh, and shortly in, MEME ORIGIN!
Not the only one either…
Also, might I bring up "big crown thingy"? Surely she means ''big crowny thing!'' Also, Spike being the new Rainbow Dash.
And I wouldn't feel right rounding this post out without mentioning that I spotted this face at the end:
But it was really Discord's neighborhood that got the attention here.
Really though overall… This was a really good episode! Very solidly done on pretty much every level, and a suitably impressive opening for the Season!
I can sort of understand what some were saying about the oddness/unconvincingness about Discord's traps for some of the main characters, but I didn't see any issues there myself.
The only thing I have to comment on is Discord… He's a great villain and very entertaining, but there were some that sincerely liked/sympathized with him and… NO! He was NOT sympathetic here! That's not a real problem with him and I'll deal with his redemption later on but sympathizing with him before that is really wrong, he was genuinely a bad guy here.
I've gotta say the opening had me wondering, does Twilight have OCD? I suppose this kinda plays into the Fridge Logic I was mulling over about why a young adult is being tasked to learn about stuff an grown-up should really already know about (in-universe, of course) and I suppose "she has special needs" could come into it. Though I guess the canon reason is more like "she's socially inept".
This is another that might've gotten hit by spoiling like Party Of One but Twilight's breakdown doesn't seem to be set up as a real twist in this one so that might have softened the blow.
Do't really have too much to say, generally a very solid episode and letting the other characters get in on the letter-writing was the right move.
Of course, my night has ended up terrible and miserable anyway…
@CrashGordon94
Re: your question in the Lesson Zero response
You'd be surprised how much basic social interaction has to be learned. I'm guessing that, from the point where she was picked up by Celestia on, Twilight has personally known maybe a handful of other ponies, and almost all of them in a vaguely academic/professional environment. She probably never had to deal with, say, a high school environment, where you're thrown into close quarters with a lot a random people and basically have to make things work. Now, don't get me wrong, high school is a terrible place, but most people come out of it with a set of general social skills, and those skills are so widespread that people who lack them because, say, they spent their whole lives being personally trained by an all-powerful horse goddess, might look like they have some kind of developmental disability simply because social cues and mores that seem obvious to some people are a mystery to them.
So, probably, the whole "learn about friendship" thing is going overboard, but if she has genuinely spent her entire life without friends, then it makes total sense that she would have no idea how to interact with people. And if Celestia really was grooming Twilight to become a princess, those skills are super important. So, from that perspective, it makes sense that she would want to throw Twilight in the social deep end at some point before she finished her education, if only to make sure she picked up knowledge before she really needed it.
Also, with the OCD thing, I think that might be more on the nose than people realize. What a lot of people forget is that OCD is, primarily, an anxiety disorder – people with it have constant anxious, intrusive thoughts that they want to get rid of, and they mitigate that anxiety through repetitive behaviors. So, OCD is not "washing your hands a lot," but rather, "washing your hands a lot to forget [insert intrusive anxiety here]." In Twilight's case, the anxiety obviously extends from abandonment issues and imposter syndrome, i.e. the constant fear that she won't live up to Celestia's expectations. She deals with that anxiety by directing it into hyper-meticulous research. So, at the very least, we can say it's good that her stereotyped behavior is something productive, rather than, say, turning the lights on and off a thousand times. Probably, dealing with the source of her anxiety would greatly improve her quality of life, but given what her line of work is and the way her compulsions manifest, it doesn't look that debilitating, so it's understandable that she would put off fixing it.
And there I go psychologically analyzing a cartoon horse again. I should probably see a therapist.
Blue Yoshi's fanfic reading adventure update:
(insert a picture of a Blue Yoshi riding a giant book in space here)
I have just read <a href = "http://www.fimfiction.net/story/207379/the-brief-reign-of-princess-twily">"The Brief Reign of Princess Twily". The story was really adorable and funny. I will not give out the spoilers of the fanfic in this post, but I will say that I got a dose of Twiabetes when filly Twilight decides to do her duties as a princess for one day.
Remember when Twilightlicious first came out?
Back in the good ol' days…
@Erin: If by "good ol' days" you mean "dark ages," then yes, that was the good ol' days.
Back in the good ol’ days…
When poni trolling on /b/ was still a thing
When you could fill a theater of straight-up dudes all cheering the opening of a girly intro like its the football kickoff
Back when SJW's lauded the fandom as a stand against gender expectations rather than a bunch of misogynists taking a show away from girls
Back when threads could be filled to the brim with overanalysis
New season 5 Pinkie Pie teaser (or I guess that's what you'd call it):
Also, kanashiipanda cuteness:
I like how Pinkie Pie had a music with a dramatic chant in the background. It makes it seem as if partying with Pinkie Pie or having fun is a serious business.
@Teasers
Guys… I really have to point this out…
That "oh so serious business" voice used in that trailer sounds ridiculous when its being used to say, essentially: "BUY OUR TOYS!"
That said… They are advertising one of the more Brony popular pieces in that one. I.E. Hoodies.
In my endless lurking i ended up in forumland, so i came to pay a visit.
Hi.
So this is the place where you talk about ponies and pony accessories? Not bad, but i'm still more comfortable living in the image gallery.
Speaking of which, is anyone else having problems when uploading gifs? I spent a few hours trying to upload some from this video, but eventually i gave up.

Night Four of <a href = "http://www.fimfiction.net/story/223881/luna-works-at-freddy-fazbears">"Luna Works at Freddy Fazbear's is here! And it's another good one.
Once again, SPOILERS!
.
.
.
.
.
Luna arrives, wearing her Freddy suit once again, with her two night guards wearing the Chica and Bonnie suits. While Foxy is watching his little baby spider armies hatch from the egg inside the vent (see Night Three for more info), Freddy decides to trick Luna and her two night guards by moving around the pizzeria and laughing at them. Luna tries to finish reading the book about the pizzeria (this seems to be a running gag in the fanfic), but her night guard's constant yelps of panic upon Freddy's presence near the office kept on distracting her. Meanwhile, Bonnie and Chica, who have betrayed Freddy in Night Three, are playing Old Maid, with Chica mocking Bonnie every time she wins. Bonnie sucks at cards, so Chica wins all the time, so Bonnie is really displeased. They decide to talk to Luna about the situation.
Bonnie and Chica meet with Luna. The two night guards close the door in panic, but Luna opens it and lets the two animatronics in, since they knocked politely before entering. The night guards faint as soon as the robots talk. Luna explains to the robots that she is going to leave at the end of the week, because she was under the impression that she was going to guard the restaurant for six quiet hours. Because she has not gotten any reading done due to the animatronics bothering her, she decides to quit at the end of the week and have someone replace her. Before the conversation is able to be continued, Freddy appears and scolds the two robots. Luna places him in a broom closet for his time out session.
Bonnie and Chica said that the reason why Freddy is angry is because he is too stubborn to admit that Luna isn't an endoskeleton; he is still willing to stuff Luna inside the animatronic costume. Bonnie and Chica, however, understand that Luna is not an endoskeleton and are willing to leave her alone. Luna says that the best way to deal with Freddy's anger is to have him undergo a therapy session. The two animatronics laugh as they imagine Freddy lying on a fainting couch and talking to Luna while the princess is listening and taking notes. Luna imagines the same scenario, except that Freddy has Rarity's mane on top of his head, since the thought of the fainting couch made her think about Rarity. After the hilarious thought, Luna walks out of the pizzeria when the 6pm chime rings, using her magic to levitate the two unconscious guards with her along the way. Luna also decides that in order to consult with Freddy, she will need Twilight's help, since she knows which books contain correct information about consultation with distressed individuals.
.

END OF SPOILERS
Looks like Night Five will be the last night, since the author said that it will be the "Grand Finale". I can't wait to see how it will be like. Also, the author said that Luna's replacement is not Discord. Instead, it will be "the replacement's 'uncle'". Hmm, I wonder who it will be? Oh well. All that matters is that I loved this chapter, and I can't wait for the next one to come out!

We use the image gallery too. But it is a lot easier to talk about things here
Anyway, regarding gifs. How big was your gif? If you were trying to load a gif of that whole video, you likely ended up with a file that was too huge

The size limit is something around 8 MB, one of the images i tried to upload was only 2 MB in size.
There is a specific error message when the image is too big, but the one i was getting here was a gateway time-out, usually it can be solved with F5 but not this time.

Thanks for providing the spoiler tags for me. My first attempt at doing so back then was a miserable failure (it shrunk the text instead of hiding it), so I gave up quickly. I might try it again in the future. That is, if I follow the guidelines better….

You have to include a new line after the div tag otherwise it does that.
Ex:
[div class="spoiler" title="example"]
Example text.
[/div]
Gets you:

Oh shoot! Better make this ponies related!
Also, have a season 5 leaked vine. Get excite!

Thanks for the info!
Also, the clip's too short to tell what's going on, but it was nice to watch it. EqD people are saying that the words are:
"I'm here to show you who I am. "
"Throughout the ?? It's finally time."
What do those words mean? I guess we have until Season 5 comes out to guess what they mean.

I'm pretty sure "it's finally time" may mean it'll be released sooner, but that's just me.
Also, I'm pretty sure that the second line reads "throw off the veil it's finally time," which fits in with the first line, "I'm here to show you who I am."
All right. Let's see if this works.
After reading <a href = "http://www.fimfiction.net/story/207379/the-brief-reign-of-princess-twily">"The Brief Reign of Princess Twily", I have decided to read several short fanfics, including a couple of stories written by ocalhoun, the author of <a href = "http://www.fimfiction.net/story/222685/unicorn-horns-are-made-of-candy">"Unicorn Horns are Made of Candy" and <a href = "http://www.fimfiction.net/story/212626/princess-celestia-is-in-your-bed">"Princess Celestia is in Your Bed". These stories are the re-written version of the MLP episodes and have the mane six use their power of friendship to conquer problems really quickly. ocalhoun has recently started to write the Season 2 version of the story and is updating the fanfic everyday.
I have also decided to read other stories. One of them is a story written by SkyWriter, the author of <a href = "http://www.fimfiction.net/story/29271/princess-celestia-hates-tea">"Princess Celestia Hates Tea". The others are:

Edit: After a ton of attempts, I finally created my first spoiler tag! The tag did not work for multiple times, until I realized that I forgot a bracket somewhere in the post.
Humble Bundle released the other additions to the HB Pony Pack. Not what I was expecting, but I'll take it. The animated series is nothing but random screencaps of the actual show pasted against a nice back ground. Still, I'll take it.
At last! I have created an account on FimFiction to keep track of all of the MLP fanfics I am tracking and MLP fanfics that I will read in the future. I still use a notepad to write down all of the fanfics I read and will read, though. Now I have accounts on:
Tumblr, Deviantart, Fimfiction, Know Your Meme, Derpibooru, IntenseDebate (for posting comments on EqD and Equestria Gaming).

Who wants to talk about artwork?
@Artwork
I do, since I've been making some. Not pony, unfortunately, but plenty of equines nonetheless.
Most of last month was living model drawing, which I can't show you because pingas. Got some praise from the teach, even though I have a tendency to fuck up the proportions. Got a bit better at that towards the end, though.
I did do some other stuff, though, so have a gallery.
As for pony art, can't say much about it since I've been too busy to keep track of recent developments, but I can show you a few old favourites.
Got bored and drew stuff again…
Dunno why I drew robo-Scoots as an grown-up. But it's cute, I guess?
EDIT: This too me awhile to make. GIMP is horrid when you're used to pencil drawing.
Hey @Brownmane! Is that Gandalf on the last pic?
