@Zacharias Megahorn: I just collect the cards, never have played them though, so I can't give you an opinion on that matter.

@Mexican Android: Happy Sableeye is happy, but you can't blame it.

Also, I'm still wondering how PokeStar studios works, mainly how you get money from the movies. Like if it's a set amount or something since supposedly the more money you make on it, the more movies open up.

Ah, Sableye. What a prankster (haha get it cuz it's dream world ability is prankster lololol).

And I don't know if I'm the only one who does this, but you should all install Pokemon Online. All the fun of competitive pokemon, without the strenuous breeding and EV training. Craft a team of six carefully chosen pokemon with amazing synergy, strategy, and unpredictability, or make a rain team. Watch as your enemies bow down in fear of your level 1 FEAR rattata (note: not recommended). Experience the constant and inevitable game-changing critical hits, flinches every single f*cking turn of every single f*cking battle. You can even play mafia (I made the ponies theme :3) if you are so inclined. OU? UU? Little Cup? It's all there.

Now install it dammit.

And that thing I posted on the first page is stupid. PO>PS all the way.

@Twins

I wish there was a website where you can be the pokemon, like "Pokemon Dungeon". Know anyplace that has that type of thing? I want to be Sableye.

Oh, it's a battle simulator. At first I thought it was that MMO I used to play. Also, I see someone was using Brycanman from the PokeStar Studios as an avatar. Neat.

Nao, do they have any of the evil teams as avatar deals?

Linkara did once say that he wanted a Pokemon game in which the fighting is like Super Smash Brothers and not an RPG.

For those of you with the US version of Black or White, they're releasing Keldeo August the 27th at GameStop. However, there is something a little bit odd about Keldeo's release date….mainly the stopping point. October the 6th…..one day before a couple of games release.

and

And this is just one of the things I hate about event Pokemon. Yeah yeah, I know you can trade it over to B/W 2, but why not extend the release date a bit and give new B/W 2 users a chance for it?

Speaking of Events, It's odd that they made the gameplay for an Arceus and shaymin event in D/P, but never released it. Anyone know why? I'm curious.

Because of a certain invention that Game Freak had no idea would affect the way people would play the game. That invention is……..The Action Replay.

Same reason why they're stopping the Keldo event one day before Black and White 2's release day….which is….well, I don't know really.

Personally, things like this don't have an excuse except for stupidity unfortunately.

I think there's something to that "Mew under the truck" rumor, at least I think the truck in question was there for a reason. There was probably a scrapped subquest involving it- scrapped due to underage driving perhaps?- because in the Game Corner, when you examine one of the slots it says there's someone's keys there. I bet they're related, or were in the beta version.

@Mexican Android: That picture is pretty bad ass. Not to mention it'd explain why several of those Pokemon would have to be revived with fossils. Most of them since some of them are still catchable without having to be revived.

So I'm looking at Serebii and I see that the Black and White 2 is going to have a Genesect event over Wi-Fi.

Areyoufuckingkiddingme This is why I hate it when the games take so long to be localized, cause our events don't match up with the Japanese ones. Ugh, hope they plan on releasing Genesect in the future for the English versions of the game.

But you know, enough about my bitching about event Pokemon (though I'm sure there'll be more of that later), have a dubbed B/W 2 trailer.

I suddenly get the bone-chilling sense that somehow, somewhere, there's Rule 34 of this being made.

Nope, Yu-Gi-Oh! has weirder hair.

Yuma from Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal.

That hair doesn't even make sense at all. I hope Pokemon doesn't go that bizarre in hair styles.

I grew up with Pokemon Crystal and Silver then I went to get generation I games to complete the pokedex.

I also liked Pokemon Emerald because of the Battle Frontier.

Okay, I have to say, Pokemon Conquest is godly. It's like everything I've dreamed about manifested itself into a cartridge and violated my DS's card slot so pleasurably it didn't even press charges.

@Ansem: I don't know, I still think Corless's hair is weird. It's like the ring to a planet.

Well I still think the name Corless is retarded. They could have easily kept the Japanese name, Akuroma (Achroma), and it'd sound just fine. A- meaning without, chrom meaning color, everything would have been peachy. But noooooo, they had to go and change stuff for no reason, just ask my pal Jelly-Filled Donut.

I despised Klink when I first saw it, but then I started to wonder. I dreamed up a glorious clockwork Pokemon, all complex with gears and cogs, really sweet steampunk looking stuff. Then came BigDerpGear and BiggerOtherGear and I was vastly disappointed. Still, I trained one. Pretty fun. I named it Rolex.

It's pretty good, too. Kind of a one-trick pony, but a Shift Gear followed by a Steel Gem boosted Gear Grind can do some real damage. You just switch in on something you know is gonna try and Toxic you and go to town.

So I read a preview about Black and White 2, and it mentioned that Roxie sings a song about Koffing. However, It did not mention if it was in English or Japanese. I'm both nervous or excited at how it will turn out.
Also, it says that it has a great post story, great new environments and the world tournament is a great touch, but The early game is embarrassingly easy and Triple and Rotation battles are wasted. It also says a certain Beaver is conspicuous by its absence…

What do you think about generation zero?

Direct link to the info page

In case you don’t want to sign into facebook (or don’t have one), here’s a snippet from the info:

Take control as a young Samuel Oak or Agatha as they make their journey through Kanto for the first time. Travel through familiar, and not so familiar, areas and learn about the history of Kanto and its inhabitents. Who came before Giovanni? Where did Voltorb come from? How did Agatha and Oak go their separate ways? What was before the Pokédex?

Pokémon Generation 0 is NOT a rom-hack. This game is made through the RPG Maker XP program, and will be a standalone executable. It includes all original music and artwork for the menus and characters (aside from the generic ones, of course).

To bad the post game actually requires me to actually beat the champion this time around. Something I probably will not be able to do especially giving that the Champion's Pokemon mirrors one that I hated with a fiery passion in Black/White 1.

@Ansem: Looks good, but starting out with one of Kanto's legendary birds as a starter? Wht? Also they do look adorable, particularly Zapdos.

GIANTDAD wrote:

Hey guy's do you ever think they might make a pokemon that has a 4TH evolution stage?

God I hope not. Three is a magic number.

I doubt they'd ever make a fourth evolution stage, or a triple typing combination. They operate nicely within their set parameters. I prefer it this way, it prevents crazy 17-tier digimon-style powerups and keeps the whole Pokemon world more…biological. Like there's a governing logic to it all.

And now it's time for me to share some dub mistakes, because sometimes they're funnier than the jokes (re-watches the Minnesota joke)

And then there's everyone's personal favourite:

Because sometimes people love to nitpick.

Someone tried posting a thread on Pokemon related dreams, well there are certain ones I keep having. They involve Riolu appearing in the anime again. God I hope that happens, considering the fact it appears on the poster for Best Wishes 2.

Three more days until Keldo is released, and I intend on asking the GameStop people why they have such a stupid cutoff date, though honestly, I'm putting the blame on Nintendo/Game Freak more then anything.

That still urks me that they cut the distribution date off one day before the release of Black/White 2.

I have a predicament: I have two pokemon that I want to evolve. One is level 25 and evolves at level 37, and the other is level 34 and evolves at level 43. I have the EXP.Share and the Lucky Egg, so who should I give each item to to get them to level up as fast as possible?

From what I understand from Serebii and from years of grinding, there are a lot of things going into this. It's not very simple.

Lucky Egg increases the experience you gain in battle by 50%.

Exp. Share gives you 50% of all experience points earned (and then more if that pokémon participated in the battle with the fainting opponent pokémon.)

Let's break that down practically.

You probably have 6 pokémon in your party. Let's say they all fight equally and get an even amount of Exp. Points (they probably don't, but I don't have a lot of information to go on here.)

The pokémon with the Exp. Share would get a little more than half of all Exp. Points, because that's what the Exp. Share does, at least. You'll get a little more than that, because that pokémon will be fighting and getting parts of that other half at times, if not all of the other half. Either a total of all of the points (if it fights all of the battle), 3/4 (if it is fighting with one other pokémon on that battle,) about 2/3 (if fighting with two other pokémon), and so forth.

Either way, that's more than half or 1/2+

The one with the Lucky Egg will get a sixth of all of the Exp. Points earned by your team. With the item, they'll 50% more than everyone else, so that would be a twelfth more than everyone else (or half of the share that everyone would be getting in the first place.)

1/6+1/12=3/12 or 1/4 of all Exp. points.

There are quite a few assumptions that I made here (e.g. None of the pokémon have fainted, they all fight the same amount, they all get the same amount of Exp. Points, none of the other Pokémon are holding items that affect Exp. Points, the kinds of Pokémon you fight with each pokémon.)

But, all things held equal, the Exp. Share will consistently get you Exp. Points even when you don't battle, where the Lucky Egg gets you Exp. Points only when the pokémon holding it battles.

So if you're fighting equally amongst your team, then Exp. Share is the way to go.

If you're focusing on just one pokémon, then use the Lucky Egg. Exp. Share does not increase the amount of experience you get (it also doesn't affect your Effort Points for fighting certain pokémon, if you're into EV training. Exp. Share gives you EVs that you may not want for your pokémon.)

Now if you want to give one item to one and then the other item to the other, then keep reading.

How much experience does it take for your pokémon to level up? Some pokémon (e.g. dragon, pseudodragons, pseudolegendaries, rare pokémon) level up much more slowly than others (e.g. Pidgey/Pidgeotto). If the pokémon at level 25, doesn't need as much experience to level up as does the one at level 34, then, all other things held equal, those pokémon might get to their evolution levels at about the same time. In fact, I've found that pokémon who evolve at significantly higher levels tend to need more experience per level than other pokémon who evolve at lower levels.

So I'd bet that your fully evolved pokémon at level 43 would be much stronger than the one that evolves at level 37 in terms of individual values (i.e. the stuff that makes some pokemon generally stronger than others no matter how you train them. For example, Arceus has the highest amount of total IVs. Legendaries and dragons tend to have high total IVs.)

Also also, note that one pokémon has 9 levels to go, and the other has 12 levels. Again, all other things held equal, the one at level 34 may evolve more quickly, simply because it's closer. But as you get higher in level, the amount of experience points you need to level up increases regardless of what kind of pokémon species you're dealing with.

So having said that (now naming you pokes by the level they're at now):

tl;dr in bold

I would probably give the Exp. Share to the one at level 25, and the Lucky Egg to the one at 37.

The one at 37 is more likely to fight in your more important battles, because it's stronger and could do better. It can take advantage of the boosted Exp. Points of Lucky Egg, because it will be doing a bit more battling. The one that's just at Level 25 is more likely to get knocked around in more important battles, but it would still get half of the experience from those battles without having to fight.

Now, if you're just walking around and training everyone equally and you're not at a important part of the game, then give the Lucky Egg to the one at 25, and then give the Lucky Egg to the one at 37 before you go into a battle with it.

You're probably not going to let your level 25 fight strong wild pokemon or very strong trainers by itself, but it could probably take weaker wild pokémon or weaker trainers. In that case, before you go into a battle, just give the Lucky Egg to whichever pokémon is going to do the heavy lifting in that battle.

Super tl;dr: EXP SHARE GETS YOU MAX EXPERIENCE OVERALL.

Heh, Verbose is the king of long post, even when it comes to Pokemon, and as for Conquest, to be honest, I don't have it, so I can't say.

I'm still anxiously waiting on Black/White 2, and yeah, I'm still wondering how they're going to handle the Dogars song.

Please elaborate, King of the Citruses.

Now "Wikipedia's article" has me interested, and the fact that it's a turn-based strategy has me very interested.

But how is it compared to other turn-based strategies I've played? Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and A2 are pretty easy, but I love the customization. Fire Emblem has a great story, great music, great characters, and great gameplay. Advance Wars is pretty much a ton of maps and various strategies to take beat each one (with it's own brand of music.)

Have you played these games? How does Conquest match up?

Oh yes, the Keldo event is now active, isn't it? I'll probably head up to Gamestop this weekend and get it.

Still not sure what is up with the end date, but yeah, I've brought that up constantly.

It was fairly close to Fire Emblem, but every Pokemon only had one move. That one move will cover however many tiles when used. The enemy doesn't counterattack when you hit them, meaning you can surround an opponent and just pummel the stuffing out of them, but it also means they can do the same to you. Stuff like Tackle hits the space in front, Ice Beam will hit the three tiles in front of you, something like Ember will skip one tile and hit the one two spaces ahead, great as backup so you don't hit your own dudes. Cross Poison hits a giant X, in front of you, left, right, and L-shaped moves ahead, like so:

X X
 X
XoX

and every Pokemon's got a set amount of spaces they can travel. Usually 3. Quicker ones like Treecko get 4. It's not dependent on Speed though, it seems to go by evolutionary stage. Fully evolved Pokemon move shorter distances. Rhyhorn can move 3 spaces, but Rhyperior only moves two. Except stuff like Crobat. Fuck yeah Crobat. Crobat goes where he pleases.

Then there's the "trainers", called Warriors. Each one's got a Pokemon, they can have a couple at once but only one can be sent into battle. Every warrior has a certain Pokemon they're most compatible with, so if they get that Pokemon, they'll be able to train it higher than any other warrior would be able to do. It's really fun, there's a lot of factors to consider.

The end date is just so you can't get it straight from BW2. There's no real good reason for it, but whatever. There's no real reason for those Nimbus-riding genies to get new formes either, or Keldeo for that matter, but it's Pokemon. I ain't gotta explain shit.

Which is still annoying as all get out since it's secondary form is more used in B/W 2. My brain is still full of fuck, and I will be asking the clerk or whoever is working about the odd as Hell cutoff date.

Won't be rude about it since yeah, more then likely they don't have anything to do with it, but it's just damn annoying really.
