I'm happy. Second Alola Games for the 3DS is not only what I expected, it's what I wanted. Move Tutors are a given, but now we wait to see if new Mega's are still a thing.

And as expected I'm already seeing certain specific parts of the fandom throwing a fit. Namely two groups:
-People who thought Pokemon Stars was real and would be coming to Switch
-People who were clamoring for gen 4 remakes
I'm not sure we won't see them, but just not now. In terms of mechanics, Gen IV wouldn't benefit nearly as much as the first 3. The only thing I'd think you'd see would be a visual upgrade and new moves/Fairy-typing.
I still think Stars could come to the Switch, but maybe it'll be it's own thing or (God forbid) a fourth version in the generation.
One thing that was brought to my attention is that when he is talking he has all of the Pokemon games behind him except Diamond and Pearl
Also People need to know Pokemon remakes never come out on the same system

So Gen 4 remakes confirmed Gen 8 on the switch?
I wasn't expecting sequel versions to Sun & Moon, I was expecting a third version. Ah well. I hope at the very least they'll follow the style of Black & White 2 and be direct sequels to the original Sun & Moon. I'd rather that than go through the same thing again with minor differences.
I thought I didn't really care about D&P remakes until now, I'm actually a little disappointed that it doesn't seem to be happening. Ah well, I can live with that. Maybe next year.
Honestly, the more I think about it, the more I don't get the salt. Pokemon Mainline games follow a pattern with their release schedule that makes it obvious what it was going to be.
For people expecting Star, games within the same gen come out on the same console, even if a new console is out. Mostly to allow easier trading within Gen, but also because mechanics don't change that much within the same gen, making a move to the new console pointless.
For people expecting DPPt remakes, something I didn't notice until today, but remakes don't share consoles, mostly because the main draw of a remake is the updated mechanics.
For people expecting Gen 8, gens come out 3-4 years apart, come on man. Also, who wants a rushed generation and the best region to only get a year in the spotlight anyhow?
Also, given the cancellation of Z, sequels make more sense than third versions, which it seems GF is pulling away from, which is good, since sequels offer more than third versions.
People get too caught up in speculation sometimes, only to get salty when their unlikely theory turns out to be false. If history serves, we are going to get Gen 8 late 2019/early 2020 with DPPt remakes a year later, both on the switch.
It's less frustrating when you realize Stars has already come out.

I just occurred to that with the announcement of Ultra Sun and Moon, this makes X and Y the first set of main games to not receive a follow up of any sorts (sequels, remakes, or a third version).
Anyways, i'm okay with another set of Alola games, but i'm hoping we don't see anybody getting too angry at the games in question.

…I feel like a dunce for asking this now, but was Stars suppose to be something like Crystal/Emerald/Platinum? I thought it was the working title for both USUM this entire time, but the comments I've been reading suggest otherwise.
I'm actually getting some B2W2 vibes from this, outside of "Pokemon sequel".
Judging by the official art, we may have something similar to Black and White Kyurem; minor legend in the originals (Kyurem and Necrozma) combining with the cover legends of the originals (Reshiram and Zekrom; Solgaleo and Lunala).
Obviously, the plot is going to be significantly different, but that's just a curious detail I noticed.
Can someone find me a source for this "It's not a sequel, it's an alternate timeline" statement everyone is throwing around with absolute certainty? Did I miss something? I thought the video was the only piece of info we got.

They actually say that in the direct. I'm on mobile as I type this, so I can't directly embed it on here.

Well, get back to me on that, because I want to see the wording myself, if it's a literal alternative timeline or they just mean it will have a different story.

I just saw someone in the Pokemon comment section post that the literal translation of the original japanese would be “mou hitotsu no monogatari” would be ‘Another Story’ or ‘one more story’. Putting it through a translator gives me Mou = Again hitotsu = One monogatari = Story.
Nothing that concrete says "Alternate Timeline" I'd still wait until we get more info.
So even though I'm not in this region, I'm here to announce that shiny Tapu Koko is available for the PAL region as mentioned here. No news yet for North America, but if it made it to PAL then it seems really likely.
Addendum: Shiny Tapu Koko is now available for American region.
Finally there is UltraSun/UltraMoon news. This time it's a new Lycanroc form.
Apparently it can't be found in game through wild encounter though.
@Adam Where'd you get the "can't be found in game" info at? I didn't watch it, but serebii said it was shown evolving.
Edit: Also, while I like the design, the color is a little off-putting, despite understanding why it's that color (color of Dusk) However, /vp/ is throwing a hissy fit, four minutes there after months away just to see the reaction reassured my decision to never visit that hellhole again.

BulbaNewsNOW tweeted it right after announcing it.
New Corocoro information out, Dusk form will have both Accelrock and Counter, as well as Tough Claws. already making it better than Midday and Midnight forms
I have to share you this story about what I managed to do recently. Some of you may recall back in Gen IV that the side game "Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia" had a downloadable side mission involving a Riolu that had Aura Sphere and could be sent over to Diamond, Pearl or Platinum. The mission was only available for download for a certain amount of time, and I was too late to get it (only because I originally thought you had to finish the game first and I stopped playing it for a while when I got stuck on a hard part). I decided to pick the game up again and see if there was an Action Replay code that could unlock the mission without having to download it, unfortunately I couldn't because the mission itself isn't on the cartridge.
The only thing I decided to do then was to find a AR code for Diamond that could make the deliveryman appear with the Riolu. I came across one way back when, but it didn't work. I tried to see if I could find one again; I did, but it was really long, probably the longest one I have ever entered. Thankfully, this one actually worked, and I was able to obtain it from the deliveryman perfectly.
However, there was still something else I wanted to do with it. Even with the powerful move it can't normally learn, there was still one problem I had with the Riolu: it was male. If you know me, then you should know I like my Pokémon to be the opposite gender of what it's usually stereotyped as. I also wanted to look for a AR code that could change the Pokémon's gender (actually did this one before the Riolu one) and I found one that worked for White, which was also long. I managed to transfer the Riolu over to White, changed it to female there, and then successfully transport it into Pokémon Bank. I'm glad this all worked out, because I was afraid that it might not be able to be transferable, and I'm afraid that if I let it stay in the Bank for too long then it'll notice it's been modified and my account will be terminated. It's currently in my Sun game, and I hope to bring it over to UltraSun afterwards. All I can say is that I never thought I would use the Action Replay again, but this just drove me to do so.

New trailer:
Interesting stuff, looks like the game will in fact be quite different from Sun & Moon.
UB Adhesive is a new creature. What's interesting is it looks as though some of those trainers from the Ultra dimension will use UBs against the player. Oh, the horror!
Godammit GF, why give the coolest UB such a boring and horrible typing? Assembly should have been Celestela 2.0 not Guzzlord 2.0
Marshadow is now available for North America. Head over to GameStop/EB Games/Gameplanet to get yours.
The Pokemon game is really awesome one to play along with gamer friends.

Is it me, or does Ultra Megalopolis give me Black City vibes?
I dunno it's likely just me

New info on Ultra Sun/ Ultra moon.
Also, story trailer:
So…Darker and Edgier right?
New trailer for Ultra Sun and Moon came out. Big things being the reveal of Rainbow Rocket, and the return of the Battle Factory.
Appears to happen postgame judging by Lysandre's Pyroar being level 65.
And the Groudonposters on /vp/ are still in denial, all we need now is a new Alolan form and they will have lost all legs to stand on.
Ultra moon leaked and it has a ROM on 4chan

Oh goodie, it's "Dodge spoilers for nine days" time again. I already got hit with one in the image gallery.
Meanwhile, in spoiler territory…
Am I the only one who sees Zeraora and kind of want to see them doing Saint Seiya style special moves?
I mean, given Z-Moves are a thing it could happen… And this kitty-fox thing does use punches… And I guess you could say its kind of Golden, and looks like something out of an "age of heroes" style shounen anime.
… Actually it kind of cuts a heroic figure in general, albeit with a bit beastial twist. Like if Son Wukong the Monkey King was a Cat-Fox instead of a Monkey.
In before "Rawr, Super Saiyan Cat Thing". I'm pretty sure the Pokedex is full of things with that description, plus or minus the cat thing.
I really wish the latest Pokemon Mystery Dungeon gained it's own animated special like the previous ones. Imagine how Deerling,Espurr or Fennekin would sound if they talked?

Super Mystery Dungeon deserved its own series, and yet it got jack.

If the actual Pokemon series ever ended. Then Pokémon Mystery Dungeon could finally get a proper series but that's a pipe dream. I want to hear Braixen talk dammit!

I went to Gamestop and all I got was a shiny Silvally.
Well, I got my hands on the game… and promptly I found myself making comparisons to the last game not even 5 minutes in. Literally only as far as the "you get your Pokémon" moment before my game froze.
Long story short… I've posted my thoughts on Tumblr. beware the mildest of spoilers
If you're already up to the point you get your Pokémon, which is not long… You should be fine. (Unless something version specific happened, which I doubt).
Direct all of your baseless predictions here, but if it doesn't include "Pokémon: Let's Go, Dunsparce!" it's not worth anyone's time.
Here's the new trailer for Gen VIII of Pokémon. I'd love to analyze it, but I don't have a ton of time outside of hoping people will start to get hyped about playing Pokémon again and not create new threads about it.
I like all three of the starters. I don't love any of them, but I like all three. They lack character in the physical design, but they're all cute to me.
I very much like Pokémon England(?) It looks cool. I get Sinnoh vibes from it.
Garchomp btfo Flygon God-tier ground-dragon rep.
oi mate yew got a loicense to carry pokéballs?
I like how Galar seems to be modeled after Britain (wonder if Ryme City is located there and if this region had any long war with Kalos), the look of the game itself doesn't look too much new though, seems too similar to Gen VII graphic design. As for the starters, Sobble seems to be the one I'm leaning toward at the moment though Scorbunny seems to be real close (good thing they're keeping with the Chinese Zodiac theme); Grookey on the other hand doesn't really attach to me, though I don't dislike it as some other starters that I dislike such as Froakie or Rowlet.

Alright time to speculate which new electric type could be coming for Sword and Shield.
Espurr wrote:

If you mean the obligatory Pikachu clone, there's no way to guess outside of typing, but I'll say something rarely/never done.
So an electric/dark, mischievous hedgehog. Gets Night Slash and Nuzzle. Oh, it doesn't evolve. Also, it's not viable.
