ⓘ This Comment Was Deleted Copypasta is a copypasta reading, "ⓘ This comment was deleted and the account of this user is under investigation," sometimes continuing, "for racism, hate crimes and domestic terrorism." The copypasta is used similarly to the Discord User Is a Suspected Terrorist copypasta to make it appear as if the user's comment was removed by moderators for possible criminal activity.

Origin

The "ⓘ This comment was deleted" copypasta started spreading online as early as February 2022, although its exact origins are unknown. On February 13th, 2022, YouTuber^[1] Mas Lui Family posted a tutorial on how to use the copypasta, showing a comment section on a Facebook post filled with the copypasta, garnering over 1,000 views in a year. The copypasta was eventually expanded to include a list of things the user is being investigated for. For example, on June 15th, 2023, 9GAG^[2] user picklerick666 posted a screenshot of the expanded copypasta (shown below).

Spread

The copypasta became increasingly popularized throughout June 2023, with some users online sharing screenshots of it and wondering if it's real. On June 19th, 2023, a Redditor shared a screenshot of the copypasta to /r/shitposting^[3] (shown below, left). On June 23rd, Instagram^[4] user gail510_3.0 posted a screenshot, writing, "Commie IG going full commie. 🤯," garnering around 60 likes in two weeks (shown below, right). On June 28th, the copypasta was added to copypastatext.com.^[5] On July 1st, a Redditor asked /r/Instagram^[6] if the comments are real.
