Kucing 3 Hari Minggat Pulang Marah Marah (Eng. A Cat Doesn't Come Home For 3 Days, Comes Home Angry) refers to a viral video about a cat that doesn't come home for three days later, then returns, seemingly angry without reason. The video took off in Indonesian meme circles as social media users created various exploitable based on the video's thumbnail.
Origin
On February 24th, 2019, YouTube[1] user "dewoAndi' cat's activity" uploadeda video titled "Kucing 3 hari minggat pulang marah marah." The video received more than 7.3 million views in two years (shown below).
Spread
The screenshot of the video became an exploitable meme in which users changed its title. It grew popular in late April 2021 among Indonesian speakers on Facebook. For example, on April 28th, 2021, Facebook[2] user Aris uploaded a screenshot of the video with the title changed to "Kucing 3 hari minggat pulang pulang mengklaim waifu gweh" (Eng. A cat doesn't come home for 3 days, comes home claimed my waifu). The post received more than 240 reactions and 117 shares (shown below, left). On the same day, Facebook [3] user Unkl Mitball uploaded an edit reading "Kucing 3 hari minggat nonton nichijou pulang pulang minta season 2" (Eng. A cat doesn't come home for 3 days watching Nichijou. Comes home asking for season 2 of it). The post received more than 687 reactions and 310 shares (shown below, center). On the next day, the same Facebook[4] user uploaded another version of the meme by combining it with a video about a cat who ruins his food then yells "memang babi" (Eng. (this cat is) absolutely pig) with titled "kucing minggat 3 hari pulang-pulang jadi babi" (Eng. A cat doesn't come home for 3 days, comes home became pig). The post received more than 1,100 reactions and 1,000 shares (shown below, right).
On April 30th, 2021, Twitter[5] user @KuchinkLine uploaded compilations of the meme. The tweet received 134 likes and 36 retweets (shown below).
