On November 14th, 2022, news of a gory murder emerged out of New Delhi's Mehrauli neighborhood where a man named Aftab Poonawala was taken into custody for allegedly murdering his live-in partner Shradha Walkar. Poonawala reportedly strangled Walkar, cut her body into 35 pieces and stored them in his fridge before he slowly scattered her remains across a forest in his neighborhood.^[1]

On November 15th, Twitter^[4] user @lakshayhere then posted a photo posing next to his fridge alongside text that read, "Me & Who?" The post gathered over 6,000 likes in a day (seen below).

Also on November 15th, several Twitter users began discussing the existence of a Facebook group named "Aftab Poonawalla Fridge Posting,"^[5] where people shared memes about Poonawala and his use of a fridge for his alleged murder^[6][7] (examples from the page seen below).
