About

"After Like" Fireworks refers to a TikTok trend in which people dance while fireworks are exploding behind them. The dance trend started in 2022, inspired by the music video of the song "After Like" by IVE, which often plays in the background of the videos.

Origin

On August 22nd, 2022, the K-Pop girl group IVE[1] released the music video for the song "After Like," which accumulated 151 million views and 2.3 million likes in five months.

The music started to trend on TikTok as part of the Lisa Rinna M&M trend in August 2022, where the song was used in the background for the memes.

Spread

The viral meme helped IVE reach new audiences on social media, culminating in the dance trend, which was inspired by a scene in the "After Like" music video in which the members are dancing while fireworks explode in the background. A day after releasing the song, the group[2] shared a behind-the-scenes clip of the dance performance, receiving 16 million views and 3.2 million likes in five months.

In early December 2022, some fans of the group began to share videos doing the "After Like" fireworks dance trend. On December 8th, 2022, TikTok[3] user @kimthutu posted a video dancing to the song while some fireworks were exploding in the air behind him. The video garnered 4.3 million views and 1 million likes in three weeks.

Other creators joined the trend during the Christmas holiday, as many fireworks displays worldwide celebrated the holiday. For example, TikTok[4] user @baibannn_ went to the streets to do the dance trend, receiving 1.7 million views and 400,00 likes in less than a week.
