Amaya "I Never Said I Was Perfect" refers to a clip from a Love Island: Aftersun episode from season 7 of Love Island USA in which contestant Amaya Espinal, also known as Amaya Payaya, spontaneously sings an original song to herself in front of a vanity mirror, with the lyrics, "I never said I was perfect. I never said I didn't have any thoughts. But at least I'm pretty. And at least I'm a little funny. And at least I'm my own best friend." The audio became a viral TikTok sound in late June 2025. Some singers on social media shared covers of Espinal's song as well.
Origin
On June 22nd, 2025, TikToker[1] @chelleyliusa posted a clip from the Love Island: Aftersun episode of season 7, episode 17 of Love Island USA,[7] showing the contestant Amaya Espinal singing to herself. She says, "I never said I was perfect. I never said I didn't have any thoughts. But at least I'm pretty. And at least I'm a little funny. And at least I'm my own best friend." Over four days, the video received over 607,000 likes in four days (shown below).

On June 25th, TikToker[6] @sophiaavictoriaaa posted a video of herself doing a guitar cover of Amaya Espinal's song, gaining over 58,900 likes in a day (shown below).
